Miniature Steam Engine

Greetings Friends!

After finding the Scematic for the Automaton in Ashbury, I fancy building one, yet I can't for the life of me find a Miniature Steam engine which I'd need to build one its components, a mechanical arachnid.

Anway, the qustion is simple, where in Arcanum would I find such a device?

I think its a random item that is sometmes being sold by the inventor and the factory foreman in Tarant.

 

Keep shopping, it will show up. BTW, with enough pickpocket, you can shoplift the steam engine from the foreman.

There will be one in the Wheel clan inventor's shop your first day there. There is one on a shipwreck south of Caladon, & if you have stolen the Herron Device, steal it back, it will make a perfectly normal Arachnid I have been told.

 

The Herron Device can not be used to create a mechanized archanid, it is mearly a quest item for the Thieves Guild.

 

but the miniature steam engine is VERY big so you require a high skill in pickpocketing. IIRC if you get expert in it you can negate the size penalty. or maybe i confused it with fallout

 

Reduce the weight penality IIRC. I have pickpocketed more than one steam enigne.

Someday I will go all th way in Mechanical, thrn I will test the Herron Arachnid theroy. Untill then, it will be repeated as "told to me". On another forum, after having been told forever that the Medical Arachnid schematic you get from Max isn't broken, a regular just tried it out, & geuss what? It realy is broken too!

These things happen, but just watch your grammer & you too can always be blamless.

thought so, i have never really had use for it

p.s is the dwarven indestructable hammer any good i usually just use it for attacking thigs like ore golems that damage weapons.

 

Right guys, I thought I'd save webspace by asking ANOTHER question inside this topic.

One of the components needed to conturct Machined Plate Armour is called a "Micro Steam Plant" or something, and it looks a bit like a toy.

Where would I find one of these?

i have no idea, but i wouldnt be at all surprised if you could get one from the inventor in the wheel clan
