My first tech character just got the skill neded to make one, but I don't know how to use it. It's folded in my inventory. It can't be used, and if I drop it, it stay folded.

the automaton schematics can be found in blackroot (ashbury?) either way it can be reached by way of train from tarant, you have to fight one first, but i defeated it at level 6 so its not the biggest problem, you just need smithy skill to build it in addition to mechanical skill

Par, you can also equip it to a quickslot to use it. Be careful, however, for sometimes it disappears, but the space it takes up and the weight is stuck in your inventory, but you can't use it! :x And, Sleek, it is in Ashbury, and you don't HAVE TO fight that automaton; you can just stick near the wall and sneak.
I tried staying close to the wall but a party of 10 has a hard time staying in line and sombody triggers the box. I know I could have them wait but..... thats the easy way out eh! Parmanian
Anyways, get used to that Automaton, cuz there will be alot more later on. That may qualify as a spoiler, but I didn't say any names, so...
i have a warning for this an automan or spider costs over $1000 and if they die which they do it will cost so just be careful how u use them
quite a bit over $1000! the steam engine can go to $1500, I think, and large gears are around $500. Also, you hafta make the Elite Plate, and the parts are hard to find and expensive.
time for all the arcane great swords out there for the qualified and the balanced sword for the throw aways' Mechanized junk are the easiest kill in the game! played right that is! Parmanian
