I was in a math competition for highschool students in Sweden. And guess what?

I got into the final, which means I'm one of Sweden's 18 best highschool students at math.

The second name in the "Namn och skola" list is mine!

    :D

    Bååth-Sjöblom

How do you pronounce that? I have no idea what the circles and dots and stuff means.

å is kind of like the o in lord or vowels in board, and then just a normal t, the h is just there to look nice.

ö is kind of pronounced like i in bird, but with your mouth shaped like when you whistle, and then open it a bit more. And the o sounds almost like the end of a English o.

Thanks, "rroyo", actually it was kind of easy. All I had to do was sit for 5 hours in a classroom answering 6 questions.

So Bååth-Sjöblom would sound like Boot-shieblom in American? (I'm not being rude, just confused)

It's like you were to say "board", but changed your mind once you were to say the "rd" and went for a "t" instead.

    Oh, and congrats Thomas.

I don't really think you can pronounce my name in English or American. Sorry.

And I edited out my first name from Retards post. My uncle or aunt had been searching for my and my brother's name with google, and I DON'T want them to find this place, EVER. Especially not in your post. Sorry.

DE, you wouldn't happen to be in Luleå on the 25th November? You almost live there, and since I'm going to have to go there then, I figured I might as well see you if you were there.

    Boat-Syibloern?
I'm trying to put in other Germanic influences...well, by that I mean pronouncing it like a German word.
Can you say what I typed aloud and let us all know how it sounds? Well...all who aren't Nords in any way. Or who don't know any Nordic tongues.

No, it's "Boat", but without pronouncing the "a".

But you don't say the 'A' in boat anyway. the 'oa' in boat is pronounced 'like the 'ow' in bow.

Well, drop the "w" in the "ow" when you pronounce "boat" then. Not "Bowt" but "Bot". You see?
