I didn't mean to argue about magick - I was just trying to clatify to Maniac how my character uses magick in relation to how he thinks it should be done, so there aren't too many discrepancies. Also, by sorceress, I was referring to the method of spell use, rather than the power.

I would like to go with Jarinor if he goes for the bow. I think a mute man and a cat girl would make a great duo and it'll be fun too. The fact that it would just be us two, and his 'muteness' would give me a bit of breathing space because my character has been alone for a long time and is shy aound people. It also gives me the chance to explore a magickal ruin.

[OOC]I check this forum about every 24 hours or so, maybe 12 if you're lucky. So it doesn't really make a difference how you talk to me :).[/OOC]

Our little band of adventurers had decided to split up. As much as I was interested in going to the Vendigroth Ruins, I had more important things to do. I wasn't too keen on going to the mountains again - I'm not a big fan of caves. I wanted to retrieve that bow. The cat person was coming along with me as well. This all seemed like snap decisions to me, but it sounded like they would work out pretty well. I had no idea if or how we would meet up again, but that really wasn't a big concern to me. If it was meant to be, we would meet up again.

Fate is my guide. It sometimes throws me a curveball, but we usually get along well. Fate had now decided to split us up and send us on our way. Fine with me. I gathered the few supplies I needed and didn't already have, and set off. The cat person was following me. I didn't know how good she was in combat, so I was a little more alert than usual. There were time for introductions later I guess...

I guess we would meet up in Tulla again. I hope you took a teleportation scroll.
    [OOC]

I was glad I was going with Ando. He was a strong and noble warrior. The mages told me a detailed explanation how the BMC entrance looks like and showed me a picture. We all (who were going to BMC) stood in a circle. I once again read the incanation and we apeared in front of the mines.

"Phew...I'm glad we won't have to go to the bowels. Too techy for me." I smiled. "The sword is in another place the BMC dwarves discovered long ago. The caves of Sun they're called and the sword is the Sunburst. There shouldn't be any undead in the Sun caves but the guardians will be much stronger. Let us go." we slowly entered the BMC mines and I felt the undead. It seem undead weren't coming only from the north. "Everyone! Be aware! There are undead nearby." I pulled out my sword and the mine corridor all lit up from the glow it eminated. "And I think there's a whole bunch of them!"

When we left the large place of magick - Tulla I think they called it - the group split up again. Some went off to this place call 'Vendigroth' which was supposed to be some sort of technological ruin and some went to visit some Dwarves or something. Only the mute man Werelin went on his own.

I kind of liked the mute man. He was quiet for a start and on his own, and I didn't really feel comfortable around crowds. I looked at Aries and then at Weralin. I followed the mute man. I didn't know where he was going, but it was something about magick and that also piqued my interest.

We had been walking for a while, with Weralin striding ahead infront and me trailing along behind him. Along the way I tried out the spells I had just learned - trying to heal the various insects buzzing around the wastes. Most of the time they gained a little spurt of energy and flew off, but occasionally I did something wrong and there was a crackle and the insect would fall to the ground, dead. I guess I just needed more practice, and this magick thing was a lot more tiring than I had thought, so I gave up for a bit.

Weralin was ignoring me mostly. This was okay, but if we were to be travelling together - and relying upon each other in combat - then we should be introduced. I hurried forwards until I was level with him.

"Hello" I said cheerfully. "My name is Marie. I know you don't speak, but I thought we should get to know each other anyway."

He looked at me curiously, then smiled and waved hello. I waved back.

    [OOC]
Okay Jar, time for you to introduce yourself. Maybe you could try and explain it in guestures - that would be the basis of the sign language if you want to establish one with me (you did get my PM right?).

So. Marie was her name. I'd waved hello when she'd introduced, but then indicated we needed to keep moving. The Wastes were dangerious at the best of times, and these were far from the best of times. She wasn't having any trouble keeping up for now, which was good. I intended to travel well into the night - being half cat, I supposed she could see at night, and I definitely could.

I decided to take a break around dusk. I found some suitable rocks to rest on and started to make a cold meal for us both. Being cold it didn't taste that great, but it gave you energy, which was important. Marie wrinkled her nose at the food, but ate it anyway. She seemed ready to stretch out and sleep for the night when I stood, gathered my gear, and resumed walking. She quickly jumped up and began following me.

    "Are we still going?"

    I nodded.

    "At night?"

    I nodded again.

"But I'm cold and tired! We're in a desert, it doesn't stay warm at night!"

    I shrugged and kept walking.

"Why do we have to keep walking?"

I stopped. Better we get this sorted out now, or else this journey would be very uncomfortable. I crouched, and scratched the words "Hurry, little time".

She read them. "So, we have to hurry because we don't have much time?"

    I nodded.

"Okay, I can understand that," she said, "but why didn't you tell me earlier?"

I shrugged. What was I, a mind reader? I didn't think I'd given off a "We're stopping for the night now" vibe, but apparently I had.

She sighed, frustrated with my lack of ability to communicate. "Let's get going then, if you're in such a hurry."

I nodded, and began walking again, with Marie trailing behind me...

[ooc] Durok is Deathmages character... he wrote his character description and a very small story... then he never showed up... I'll PM him to hurry up with the posting and ask him if he wants to write or not. If he decides not to I'll PM you Slagger and explain a few thing [/ooc]

Fenrir again used a scroll to teleport and soon we found ourselves in front of the entrance of the Black Mountain Clan mines.

Entering we immediately sensed the undead smell and vibes around us.\Fenrir puled his sword and it glew. Undead were there... all around us.

I grabbed my sword and everyone else also armed and/or prepared themselves...

10 ghouls approached us from the left flank as 4 zombies came from the right. Right in front of us a large shadow came closer.... coming into the little light I looked in horror as I saw a terrible demon wit hundead smel all over him. I immediately attacked the monster with some fierce blows, dodging the demons powerfull hits. But the demon was quite fast and it smacked me to the wall. I thought I was toast but to my surprise it passed me by and waked to the fighting group and straight to Fenrir.
I suddenly noticed it, they wanted Fenrir out of the way. Probably because of his sword, they noticed he was someone with knowledge of undead.
But luckily the Demon did not know his tactics as I charged him from dbehind. My sword penetrated his thick skull multiple times stunning the demon. I took this advantage and hacked into the beast, it fell with a great roar down on the rocky floor.

In the mean time the rest of the party fought bravely against the ghouls and zombies. Kilgen once again proved his skill with the bow as he took down several ghouls.
Fenrir occasionally used magick but the combat was very close and so he favoured his glowing sword. My aunt wasn't very capable of using meelee, so she had taken distance entangling some undead and healing the party members.
My brother had it tough, fighting off two zombies at the same time. He was not as skilled as me and hadn;t really chosen an area in which to perfect himself in combat. So he mostly achieved apprentice status in various combat skills. But now he just used his sword.
When I joined again the odds quickly turned. The last ghoul fell under a blow of Fenrir and we stared at the dead undead in delight. My brither spitted at the dusted corpses and cursed them for all the missery they caused. Kilgen calmed him a bit and I summoned them to keep moving.

Fenrir mostly lead the way and soon we found a large pile of rocks against the cave wall. We started to remove the stones and quite soon an opening appeared. When all the stones were gone we stepped through the opening which was quite small. Against the wall my aunt stumbled upon an old torch. We lit it and looked into the far distance. The cave streched for miles (or so it seemed) before making a turn. It seemed like this would be the dullest cave ever, untill we suddenly heard a noise from around a corner. It sounded as if a river streamed there. But when we turned the corner we noticed we were partly right about that. A great wide lava flow ran through, blocking us from reaching the other side. On the other side we saw an extremely ugly little creature. It lauched just as ugly as it lookes saying "whahaa, you are stuck... you are stuck!!! There's no way to get here.... whahaaa, the master is going to be pleased I did this" gesturing towards the lave flow.
Then he ran off, further into the cave. "Foolish beast" Fenrir said... "He gives away his master... bwah... what a pathetic fool!"

But he did leave us with a major problem... how in the world were we supposed to cross this stream!

We stopped when it started to get dark. I was glad - I'd never done this much walking before. The food was cold and it make my nose itch. I prefer my food warm, but I guess that's also due to my feline traits. I used to love a nice juicy warm rabbit. That made my stomach rumble, so I wolfed down the rest of my food. I was getting sleepy now and was just about ready to go to bed, when Weralin just got up and started walking away!

Startled out of my sleepiness, I got up and hurried after him. "Are we still going?" I asked curiously.

    He nodded.

"At night?" I asked. I didn't mind the dark, as my senses coped perfectly, but I was getting cold and tired. I started to wish I had more fur!

He nodded again and I was further disheartened. "But I'm cold and tired! We're in a desert, it doesn't stay warm at night!"

He just shrugged and kept walking. He was so infruriating! I wish he could talk. Maybe I could convince him to tell me what he was thinking with his hands. "Why do we have to keep walking?" I asked, my curiosity finally overcoming me.

He stopped, bent down and scratched the words 'Hurry, little time' in the sandy ground. "So, we have to hurry because we don't have much time?" I asked again and again he nodded. "Okay, I can understand that, but why didn't you tell me earlier?"

I sighed. We definitely needed to sort out some form of communication. My guess is that he spent a lot of time alone and therefore didn't need to convey his thoughts to anyone. I could relate to that. I'd spent a good deal of my life alone. I smiled at him. "Let's get going then, if you're in such a hurry."

With that he started walking off again in that fast stride of his and I had to scamper after him again. It's a good job I'm so agile, or I'd left behind!

I wondered why we didn't do that 'teleport' thing we had done to get to the big town called Tulla. I suppose he had his reasons, but party with Aries in had done it, so why couldn't we?

I continued on behind Weralin, thing up different ways to convey words with my hands. I think the vowels are easy enough, but making some of the other sounds with your hands might prove quite difficult. I wish he had some sort of innate communication ability like me - cat's don't need to use their tongues to talk, we mainly use our throats! Still, if we continue to walk where we are going, then I'll have plenty of time to work something out!

We were attacked by undead. The battle was close so I couldn't use my spells but I had time to practice my sword fighting which will come useful with my future new sword Sunburst (it's magical so I guess it would be more useful for me than for Ando). I launched another fire bolt and when I turned I saw Ando slicing a demon. The battle ended.
We came upon the secret tunnels. But the undead blocked our path by a lava stream.
"No problem!" I shouted. "Get ready" I raised my hands and a huge wall of force appeared stopping the hot stream. "Quickly! Run!" They ran through I ran the last and was just in time not to be burned away. I stopped regaining my breath. I pulled a fatigue restore potion and drank it. We continued on.
"We must hurry. They might destroy Sunburst! But they'll be having hard time with the guardians." I smiled "Gold golems are powerful. I hope they won't attack us because they're very resistant to damage and almost immune to magic."

    [OOC]
I have an idea so don't rush things. One of the undead generals will be in the hall of Sunburst and I want a duel with him. You all should be having hard time with the golems OR undead.
I didn’t see where you wrote it was a LAVA stream?

we hastened ourselves through the caves. Every now and then some undead turned up, but not enough to slow us down effectively.
Until we reached a canyon which went 400 meters into the ground. It was too wide to cross and once again we had to think of a new way.

This time my aunt came up with one. "What if I entangle everyone of you and let the veins come from the other side so that it can pull you in!"

It was worth giving it a try, so we decided I'd try it out first. It worked! The entanglement pulled me towards the opening at the other side.
Everyone else crossed right after me. Now it was time for my aunt herself... she couldn't entangle herself, so we made a strong rope of the veins that carried us. I threw it to the other side with one mighty throw. Carefully my aunt crossed the rope after she secured it on the other side of the cave. When she nearly reached the other side... Fenrir and me grabbed her and pulled her in

We looked into the cave in front of us. At the very end of this path shone a blue light... we did not know what could've caused this but we didn't have time to think about these things.
We marched on steady and soon reached the source of this blue light.
A beautiful flower shed off blue powder which reflected against our torch-light. It was truly a beautiful site to see something like this in the middle of a cave... nearly impossible. My aunt wanted to pluck the flower but I stopped here. "Don't Aries... it's very likely to be poisoned"
Aries agreed and we decided we'd go on again. Then Fenrir noticed two bees, a female and a male who were cuddling each other. "Where did they come from?!" Fenrir said.
I noticed that there was a crack in the roof of the cave out of which drops of water fell. "They probably came through there" I said while pointing at the crack.
Then suddenly the male bee sat on the flower and it seemed he liked the powder the flower shed. But after a few seconds the bee's behaviour changed. He assaulted the female without second thought... After which she fell down really soon.
The bee didn't notice us and we left the scene.

We ran through the caves until we turned a corner and a large ore golem stood in between us and the following cave.
It noticed us and roared. I told the rest not to use their swords against the beast as the would be destroyed in the process.
My aunt tried several entanglements and after 5 times it worked... the green veins held down the beast as Fenrir used his magic to hurt it.
Kilgen shot many arrows at it until the golem finally collapsed in agony. As it fell down it crashed into a thousand bits.

We ran further. My brother was getting very tired of all the happenings and mentioned that if we wouldn't get there soon... these caves would probably go on forever. Aries calmed him saying that there were now unending caves and this one would not take too long anymore.
My brother was younger than me... the youngest of my kin... he was inexperienced in life because our parents died before he was trained into mature status. His name was Molan... which was the name of my grand-father as well.
Molan had been through so much already it was devastating him... but filling him with fury at the same time... he was devoted to our cause of stopping the march of the undead... as were all of us present.

Aries comments about the duration were confirmed as we noticed a bright light at the end of the cave...........

[ooc] ok Maniac... think you can pick it up from here... [/ooc]

We entered a huge stone hall. Undead and golden golems were fighting each other with many of them already dead but many still living. I saw Heech, one of Nitorh's generals. Heech was a powerful undead lich. He was holding Sunburst in his hand and was getting ready to teleport.
"You?! How did you get here?!" he screamed. "I don't have time for you weaklings! My pet will take care of you!" he threw a black orb to the ground and it shattered realizing a horrible demon. I turned at Ando:
"We'll meet back in Tulla!" I threw a teleport scroll to Ando and leaped at Heech who was about to teleport.
A purple glow surrounded us. When it disappeared I saw a horrible view. Black burned wastelands with acid bogs and lava streams. The sky was pitch-black with all kinds of abominations flying in the sky and on a lonely hill stood a horrible castle with screams echoing from it.
"Muahahahahaha!!! You're in my stronghold mage!" Heech laughed evilly.
I slowly pulled out my sword *sheeeeeev* . It glowed very bright. I leaped at Heech but he raised his hand and I was pushed back and flew into a rock and laid on the ground. Heech started running at me. He swinged Sunburst and I blocked it with my sword. He swinged again and my sword shattered. Heech was about to behead me but I raised my hand and launched a fireball at him blowing him at least 30 meters away. We both stood up. I created 9 images of me and we surrounded Heech.
"What sorcery is this?!" he was confused. I started launching lighting bolts and fireballs at him and my images repeated my movement thus confusing Heech. He than launched a force ring from him which started spreading and knocked me down but didn't affect the images.
"I found you warlock!" he laughed. The lich launched a dark energy ball at me but I rolled out of the way and made myself invisible. The ball blew away some rock.
    "You coward!"
"I'm here..." Heech turned around slicing my image in half thus destroying it.
"No, no! I'm..." he sliced another of my images.
    "Getting warmer..."
    "Where are you?!"
"HERE!!!" I touched his back with my hand realizing a powerful force thus sending him in to a nearby rock. Fortunately he let the Sunburst go. I raised my hand and the sword flew into my palm. I felt a warm feeling in my palm and Sunburst light up in a golden light. Heech launched another dark ball at me but I hit it with Sunburst destroying it easily. I than leaped at him and sliced his left arm off.
    "No!!! I'm immortal!"
    "Want to test it?"
"You won't defeat me!" he raised his hands and zombies, ghouls and other undead started rising from the ground. They all ran at me. I sliced through them with sunburst in my right hand and deflecting blows with my staff in the left hand and burning undead with my mind. I turned around and saw Heech flying on a bone dragon.
"You're mine!" he started assaulting me with dark energy waves. I deflected some of them but had also to defend from zombies. He finally hit me and then started hitting me with more of his dark waves. I fell on my knee. I pulled all my forces together, quickly pointing Sunburst at him and launched a powerful wave. Heech tried to dodge it and instead of him the wave hit his undead dragon shattering it to pieces. Heech fell into a lava stream screaming. I saw that hundreds of undead were making their way at me and I was about to collapse. I pulled my last strength, pulled out a scroll and said the incanation and teleported to the safety of Tulla. There I fell on the ground unconscious, fatigued by the fight and suffering from many wounds.

As we entered the end of the cave we saw that many golden golems were being slaughtered by many, many undead.
Rushing in Fenrir immediately noticed a lich necromancer. Throwing me a
teleport scroll he rushed at the lich who was already beginning to teleport.
Fenrir just made it into the teleportation cirkel and we watched him dissappear with the necromancer.
But before we could think of what just happened undead were beginning to attack us from all sides. 5 golden golems still stood... and they were lucky to have us there at the right time.
With great lust for battle we all stormed towards the undead.
Aries and Kilgen held their distance... Aries entangled the undead and healed the rest of us in the progress. Kilgen shit arrow after arrow at the many ghouls, zombies and a few lords slaves. The presence of the lord slaves gave away that the lich was a really powerfull undead... maybe even a colonel.
I slashed my family sword at every undead approaching me. Now te lich was gone the overwhelming strength of the many undead seemed to get less... but still they were too much for us... something needed to be done. I saw that my brother faced too much for him to handle and slashing through ghouls and zombies I made my way to him. Together we were more able to fight them off. When the majority of the undead facing us were dust.. I noticed that Aries could not bare more. I quickly tossed her two fatique potions which she gladly drunk. But I had none to drink myself anymore and I was weakened and harmed by the many blows of the undead... but with freat fury I still fought. I saw that a lords slave and some zombies had reached Kilgen who had drawn his sword and was fighting them off.

I left Molan to some ghouls which he was able to hold off and I went straight to the lords slave, agonising Kilgen. I stabbed in his back with a great roar and it turned around. It screamed in my face but I hacked right on his neck which caused him to stumble... a few more hits on his torse made him tremble and fall. I hacked off its head and it crumbled to dust.

Now we fought off the ones that were attacking us I looked at the golden golems... two were still standing but it seemed that the undead that had been fighting us were a minority. I looked around the scene and noticed another opening... cleverly hidden behind stones. We rushed to the stones and started to pull them away. It was our only escape path since undead had blocked the path that we came from... they were swarming from everywhere.

But suddenly the two remaining golems turned around and rushed towards us. They were faster than I had expected from golems... They roared as they approached us. We looked at them in fear... we were doomed. Even too late to use the teleportation scroll which I had forgotten about during the fight. But when they reached us and I held up my sword to block the blow which would surely kill me on the sppt they ran by passed us and, to my great surprise, starded to smash the stones. In only a few moments the new opening was vidable and accessable. Before the undead horde reached us we ran through the opening. The golden golems did so as well. The two golems kicked some undead back and smashed their huge fists against the cave wall... this made the wall crumble and once again blocked the pathway. For a moment we stood still and looked at the golems in amazement. Then they turned around and lookes at us. I saw agony in their eyes... they too knew what it was too lose people, or in their case golems, that were close to them.
They did not stay for 'introductions' and started to move into the cave... they couldn't get bypassed us so we had to move in front of them. The golems moved really fast and they nearly ran us over... then I suddenly noticed an opening on the right side of the cave in front of us... I yelled to the rest to go in there and so they did.
The golems rushed by, not stopping by the opening. We stared at the two moving further into the distance until they finally turned around a corner. Kilgen lit a torch and the space became more visable. I looked to the rest of the party and noticed that each and every one of them were badly hurt... but none as bad as Molan. He had a grat wound at his side and held his had on it. Aries magic could not do much here and so we tied a large piece of Kilgens cape around it... Molan released a sigh of relief and started to breathe normal again. Finally I got the chance to look around our envirement and I noticed what we ended up in. My face changed expression as I noticed this was a place with 3 magical dwarven chests stacked against the cave wall. The combination of magic and dwarven chest was unusuall, but we didn't mind it at all. Kilgen carefully checked if there were any traps on them but confirmed the opposite.

I opened the first one... it held a sword... unlike any I had ever seen... strange symols were written on it... probably a dwarven language.
As I held it in my hands it started to shine... a light which had a brown tint in it. As I looked better to the symbols I noticed one of them which seemed familiar to me... I had seen this symbol years ago when I was out with my father on hunting trips. It was a symbol which represented earth for dwarven people. I held the sword up and felt it's power running through me. I showed it to the rest of the party and explained about the symbol. I put the sword besides my family sword and we went to open the second one.
It held a book along with a bow. The book held many pages of dwarven language illustrated with marvalous pictures which explained to us what had to be in the text.
The book was probably about golden golems as many of the illustrations were about them.
Kilgen took the bow and studied it. He was near to being a master at the proficiancy of archery and his expertise quickly made the bow feel like his own to him.
He shot an arrow at the wall and watched it gave a thump of force at it... this didn't do much against the wall but it would be usefull in the future.

Then we opened the last chest. It held one thing only.. a scroll. It looked as if it was a teleportation scroll but not as good as mages would construct them.
It would not be able for us to use this one to get to Tulla... but this was not my plan yet. We would go to Erlin first... to take my brother to a good doctor... and maybe even visit my son.
We followed the path the golems took and very soon there was an exit.. which had just been obviously widened by something large... this ofcourse being the golems.

We left the cave and stepped out into a large green valley between the mountains.
Aries took the scroll from me and was about to use it when the little cretin from earlier at the lava flow suddenly came runnig after us, screaming.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGHHHHHHH you will NOT escape ME... I am the GREAT SERVANT OF HEECH!!!"
The cretin rushed towards me but I stabbed my sword right through him. It stumbled and fell... proclaiming these last words: "Nitorh will win... he will." I looked at him in disgust and turned around.....

Aries activated the scroll and made a gesture. A brown glow surrounded us... the feeling of this teleportation was different... a little tickly, as if it was not perfected yet... but what would you expect... dwarves doing magic could not lead to perfection.
But the scroll did work and soon we noticed we were in a new surrounding.

Opening my eyes I looked at where Erlin was located... my mouth fell open and I fell on my knees...
    Erlin was in ruins............

[ooc] man... I love dramatic-ness. Don't you guys... Slagger you may reply now... because I want to be at the same date so we can arrive at Tulla together. [/ooc]

    Maniac/ Fenrir (by me)

    {date: 25 March 1776}

    being Maniac

I opened my eyes in Tulla. I was in a bed... Nice robes where hanging on a chair next to me. A woman in white robes sat by a table 6 feet away from me... she meditated.

"Hello" I spoke up... "I am in Tulla right?"
"Yes my good man... you are" she replied in a very friendly voice.
I was at peace. I had survived Heech and killed him. I had fought off many undead and I had sunburst..... but come to think of it.. where was it.
I suddenly sat up straight on the bed. "Where's my sword!?" I said aloud.

The woman calmed me... "your sword is here Fenrir.. Aleon Tor has it kept safe along with the rest of your equipment... so don't worry. Now you have to get dressed if you are ready... Aleon wants to see you."
The woman walked out of the room and I dressed in the fine robe.

I walked out of the same door the woman left and found myself in the main building. I immediately knew my way around since I had been here multiple times.
I walked to the counsel chamber and entered.
There, the mages had made a semicircle once again. But now there was one mage less.

Aleon spoke up, "I noticed that you have found the sunburst... long had it been hidden. It was crafted by powerful mages millennia ago. And you retrieved it. Tell me... was it hard to find???"
I told him about Heech and the long travel through the caves to get there at last... Aleon seemed fascinated with the Heech part of the story... he wanted to know more about Nitorh so I explained Nitorh's plan to him once more adding a bit of extra information to what Aleon already knew.
I explained who exactly Heech was and what his orrigin was.
Heech was a powerful sorcerer who dabbled with the dark arts of necromancy. But not only that... he exceeded most of the dark necromancers... adding his own powerful spells to the craft. He nearly perfected it untill one day he was assassinated by 20 hitman. Nitorh found his corpse buried on a mountain and made him a lich.
But the terror known as Heech was gone now...

"But where is sunburst?" I suddenly asked.
"oh yes" Aleon replied... "you can pick it up when you leave the building later... the doorman I put there is keeping your stuff safe."
"Can I ask you one more favour though?" I continued... "can I take some more teleportation scrolls with me? I will need them much I'm afraid"
Aleon gave me the scrolls because he knew the value of my work... and he knew that Ando, I and the rest where very important now. Without us... arcanum was doomed.

I left the main building... picking up my equipment at the given place. I put on my won robe, which had been restored again... and stacked sunburst in the holster.

I was going to stay here for a while... until Ando and Leang made it back with their groups... I entered the room appointed to me and took a book from the shelf. I spend the next few days reading and learning.

Aleon also told me some interesting issues about Tulla and the location of some more 'interesting sites'.
But I feared for the people I had begun to feel attached to.... If only they knew what they were up against......

I trudged onwards. The sun beat down on us from overhead. Marie was trailing behind me, dragging her feet along. I didn't blame her - I was feeling pretty beat myself. Still, we were nearly out of the Vendigroth Wastes. I could see the bridge to the rest of Arcanum in the distance.

I wanted to stop and wait for Marie, but I knew I couldn't. Getting going again would be that much harder, and she might be tempted to stop herself, in which case, she wouldn't move again. If we could get to the green lands I knew lay only a short distance away, we would survive.

A few hours later, we were making an early camp. I'd forced some basic food down Marie's throat, along with some water. We would rest and recover here for a few days. I kept sentry while she slept. I'd wake her when I could no longer stay awake.
