Is this even possible? If so, I'd like some instructions, or even a basic way to get started.

You don't need to completely dumb down the knowledge, I'm a semi intelligent person (at least I hope I am).

And another note, my knowledge of WorldEd is fairly limited. I've been reading DarkUnderlords tutorials over and over again while messing around in the program. I somewhat have a basic idea of how to use the program, but I'm sure I'll figure it out as I become more familiar with it.

So basically, the reason I ask is I'm helping Crypton with his OpenArcanum project after realizing that he's not receiving much help at all.

I don't know how to code, I don't know anything about game engines, and I don't know a damn thing about .dat/.xml/ect.

But, on the bright side, what I do know how to do is make music, and edit sound files.

I'm basically creating new compositions for OpenArcanum and doing some voice acting for the game. While Crypton is working on the engine which, sadly I can not offer any assistance, I'm experimenting with adding new characters and followers into the game, each with custom dialog and voice acting.

Any help with this would be wonderful, and let me know if you like my idea.

Thanks, and have a Fantastical day.

It's fully possible. Fan-made main module expansions such as rroyo's A:WIP or ChrisBeddoes' Carcanum added new followers.

That's all I know, though. Not much, but at least you are now aware that it is doable. Hopefully someone else will tell you more on the topic.

Um, look through the tutorials? Like everyone else does?

You'll need to add an NPC object to some map, write a dialog and a script.

Well, at least it's possible. :)

So basically, the tutorials tell me how to make said npc/script, but the problem is adding the characters themselves in the main Arcanum Module. I figured I'd have to completely undat the whole module, or make a .patch file in order to modify it, but at that point, I'm completely clueless. :-?

If I ever got it to work, I was planning on posting it here and letting people mess around with it.

But, before I tie my shoes, I should probably learn how to put them on first.

I'll make a simple mod that includes one of said characters and see if anyone likes it first, and then I'll try to figure/find out how to mess around with the main module.

    Sound like a good idea?

    *UPDATE*

I've figured out how to make a basic follower after 4 hours of head aching frustration.

My thanks goes to Ruelz for his/her wonderful guide.

I'll upload something here later with some voice acting as a test, look forward to it in the future :)
