What the hell means "magic power available"?? And why those staffs cost so much-Healing staff=5000gold-why???? PL3/SE HELP
Well may-be enchanting magic item take time and costly material to anoint the structed material. You are paying for effector to created the item plus profit.
The "Magic Power Availble" means how your character's magic/tech appitude affects the magical item (in tech item, it's % chance of failure). When a character with tech appitude (negative magic appitude) equips a magical item, the item's power is reduced. e.g. for a magical sword that gives bonus to chance-to-hit, the bonus will be reduced. e.g. for magical armor that is reduced in weight and gives more AC, the AC bonus will be reduced, and weight increased.
so why does it cost so much according to your explenation a weapon whitout magic power is better cause everyone can use it. there must be some other advantage of the magic power.
yes if you are use a magikal weapon and have a high magik aptitude you get a bonus that you wouldn't get if you had a high tech aptitude
The differences, and effects are in usefulness. If you have a high magic aptitude and use tech items, you increase the chance that you'll fail in activities. Like missing on picking a lock, getting caught pick pocketing. The other way, being a techie using magic items, the effect of the magic is reduced. If you have magic armor that provides 30 damage resistance, but your tech level makes it only 50% available, it will only give you 15 DR. A sword that is 1-8(+10) will only be 1-8(+5). For the purposes of using equipment, it's better to be a techie using magic atuff than a mage using tech stuff. The magic stuff may not be as potent, but you won't get as ,=many failures. Although it's always better to use mostly, if not all, items of your aptitude.
