T-A's lost some of it's users!!!! I just checked to see if Tyran, NBrosz (I think that was his name - I'm getting closer all the time) or anyone else who was originally involved in the Cumbrian wars had an e-mail address or something so I could let them know T-A was back up and they are not in the member's list! There doesn't seem to be any reference to them at all! Is this because all the member information was lost during the meltdown for members joining after 6 April? If so, it's a good job I joined Sept 01, even though I didn't start posting 'til after 6 April!
If I remember correctly, the member list is just another table (or row or column or whatever) in the DB. All members who joined after the last DB backup (which seems like it was a while ago) had to have been lost along with all the posts, etc.
Calis moved us from From TLN to sector 31 after some of those users joined, so I'd have thought there'd be a db copy somewhere with them in.
Aaaahhhhrggg im em just master. I was lord. Kill all the erhhhr the fault lies with the frence and their bad fotballplaying we must kill them and the candians blame canada. :minigun:
How could you say that!? Many great people game from canada! Just like... erm, Hmm, dunno. Okay, go ahead. WAIT! What about Pamela Anderson, and Tom Green? They're Canadian! You can't blow up Canada after making those two!
That is correct. The last DB backup I have is of when we moved from TLN to Sector31. After that, I couldn't make backups myself due to a server script execution time limit. It's just not possible to dump over 100 megs of data into a text file and do it within 30 seconds. When the admin was going to make a backup for me, he ran into the hard drive space problem they had and wasn't able to get it done before everything was deleted (last he told me, we weren't going to be deleted, however).
OUCH!!!! The database is that big already? Ooohhhhh...... That's gotta hurt. Is there anyway to back it up without an admin at the host doing it? IE: I suppose a fast connection just isn't fast enough for all that? Or there's not some way around the script time out?
