    He's a decent melee fighter and imo, worth recruiting. The key for me was to engage his son in that dialogue relating to "stone" and "shape" before venturing into the Dredge. When the opportunity arises with Loghaire, interject the Stone and Shape subject. The successful conclusion results in his rejoining the clan as their king. After dispatching Min Gorad, (as RingLord stated, you discover the fate of the BMC) I traveled back to the Wheel Clan. At this point Loghaire joined up.
