    There's some lockpicks (ALWAYS) on the Lesser Skeleton's body in the northern part of the WOlf Caves (just north of Dernholm)

    I just bought them from Tarant, combine them with a Small Spring and you have Auto Lockpicks, never failed me yet.

    The orc hoods also have lockpicks sometimes.
    Of note, if you have the patch, you only need one set. Virgil will get the bonus from them even if they are in your inventory.

    If your speech skills are sufficient you're able to trade with this guy prior to joining the thieves, just tell him you can keep a secret :smile:

    also, i think it is either in ashbury, the guards who stay near the dock area...not the one who can train you in expert status, would have lockpicks with them...you can pickpocket when their sleeping
