I really need to get a bit more diverse music-wise...so at the risk of being vaulted, what are you listening to right now, what are your favourite songs/artists?

    To start the ball rolling...

I'm listening to Oasis, The Beatles and Coldplay, I also like Something for Kate and Pink Floyd, and my favourites are...

    Oasis -
    • Don't Look Back In Anger
      Champagne Supernova
The Girl In The Dirty Shirt
      Some Might Say

    Coldplay -
    • Clocks
      Yellow
      Politik

    SFK -
    • Monsters
      Twenty Years
Feeding The Birds And Hoping For Something In Return (phew)

    Beatles -
    • Magical Mystery Tour
      Hello, Goodbye
      Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
      Taxman
      Strawberry Fields Forever
Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds

Hopefully we'll get some mutual expansion of minds.......man?

I love Pink Floyd! I've also got a few Powderfinger albums, which I listen to once in a while, a little TISM and Midnight Oil goes down nicely as well.

Currently listening to Peter Gabriel's new album. For variety, I occasionally fill my playlist with about 60 other Peter Gabriel songs from various albums. The older I get, the more I appreciate that man's work. Even when he goes nuts, shaves his head, grows a curly goatee, and wears frightening face paint and/or masks. He's deep, sincere, passionate, eloquent.... Just great stuff.

    NO I'M NOT OBSESSED.

I'm also fond of The Who, as well as the solo work of three of the four original members. For the love of all that is holy, do NOT listen to Keith Moon's solo album! How that ever got rereleased as a CD with BONUS TRACKS is beyond me! But Pete's stuff is legendary, and John's stuff is great, dark, funny rock 'n' roll.

Johnny Mercer is fabulous. One of my all-time favorite songwriters, and he was also a superb vocalist. Sorta like Frank Sinatra with the humor and warmth of Bing Crosby. If you're really interested in expanding your musical experience, check him out if you haven't already. For best results, find something with Johnny Mercer singing Johnny Mercer songs, not somebody else singing his stuff. He's the best.
    :)

This past year I started listening to ZZ Top again, first time since I was a kid. I never realised how filthy their stuff is! Lord have mercy!

EDIT: Peter Gabriel's "Burn You Up, Burn You Down" is a great song to listen to before going inline skating with your dogs. Just another handy household hint!

    What do I listen to...whoa..there's a question.

Well, just about everything except britney spaz, I mean spears and most country I avoid, with the exception of Charlie Daniels and Johnny Cash. And some bluegrass...mainly for it's celtic roots (err...no pun intended.)

Off the top of my head list:

    Ani DiFranco,
    Loreena McKennit,
    Led Zeppelin
    Pink Floyd
    Grateful Dead
    Tempest
    Disturbed
    Linkin Park
    Evanescence(my current favorite)
    Iron Maiden
    Black Sabbath
    Type o Negative
    Jim Croce
    James Taylor
    Johnny Cash
    System of a Down
    old Metallica
    Mishi Donovan
    Carlos Nakai
    Kitaro
    Tangerine Dream
    Vangelis
    Godsmack

And a host of others, but I think that's enough, before I get vaulted.

Whoa...Never thought of the Chili Peppers as relaxing...

Me, I'm listening to lots of music, I'm always listening to music, in school, at home, in a car, right now...ect...

I don't own very much CDs, but I got myself a MP3 CD Player, so I have a hell of a lot of MP3s. My brother owns a bunch of the CDs that are on my MP3.

Anyway, I'll just tell you the CDs that I listen to in my sterio.

System of a Down (All three CDs)
    Sugar Ray
    EverClear
    Goldfinger
    Greenday (Nimrod)
    Three doors down
(And a hell of a lot more)

Anyway, the type of music I mainly listen to is basicaly what those bands are, a bunch of variety. I will not listen to the "hardcore" rap and I will not listen to country, well, I might listen to some rap and some country now and then, but not the true rap and country stuff....

I'll also listen to movie music, video game music and anime music.
