Level Cap Hack

I cannot get this to work
Is there a specific hex editor you must
use or any special settings?

I can't use the one in the downloads section
as i hacked some stuff into my current exe
and i lost the site that had the explanation.

I checked it all
And i have the Level Cap Hack article
but i can't find any of the lines
the article writes about.

 

I had the same problem, there is something up with his hex, because my hex editor has lots of pretty sets of nubmers ie 4A 00 BR RA 4A blah blah ... and he doens't ahve it like that.

 

So what do i do then?

Could someone do it for me cause

Just out of curiousity, what did you change in your .exe file? And why couldn't you just apply the same changes to the level hacked .exe?

 

I did some char stuff that didn't take
that long but i also disabled the cd check
so i wouldn't have to fish out the arcanum cd everytime i wanted to play. (and no i didn't burn it or get a warez version). This part took ages as i had to go through
an earlier cracked exe and find out the
specific lines that were changed as i had the 070 versio while the cracked one that
i got from gamecopy world was for 64.12 i think. I play other games as well as Arcanum (BG2) which also require cd's and i really can't be bothered constantly changing the cd's whenever i want to play a new game.

 

Ah, I see... Well, I have no experience using the no-cd hack. Good luck on finding a solution to your problem, though.

 

This is what you have to do:
In the textfile you have to look for these lines: 'at file offset 0xa67d1' This is the exact adress where you have to change value 32 to 64. Never mind the 'x' in there, that just stands for a couple of zeros. Only the part after the x is important.
If you open your hexeditor it may look something like this:
00000a67d0_____ 12 32 00 45 45_____4.56...^^
The first part is the adress you're looking for referring to the first byte in this case 12 (in the middle part where you make your changes). But since you're looking for offset 00000a67d1 it's the next one in this row: 32. And that's the value you must change
