Transformers was good, seriously, its not going to be a political retelling of the Clinton-Blair relationship. It delivered what it promised; Robots that transform. Look at the cartoon, its not the most realistic storyline out there is it? Earth is the only organic planet out there, seems like the universe is littered with different transformer races. The movie had to be different because they are not going to remake movie length episodes. I think Aragon isn't a fan of the transformers simply because it didn't have Grimlok in it and I do recall Agathon saying that was his favourite character.

He did Paycheck? Huh. I thought it was going to be a waste of time, and I know that Matt Damon was supposed to play the lead and declined on the grounds that he wasn't going to be "another" amnesiac protagonist. Affleck is a tool.

Just watched a movie called "Shrink". Another film where Spacy carries it the whole way.

    Shrink was great.

One movie I really enjoyed over the last few years is the movie "The Machinist." Stars Christian Bale.

I'm going to have to side with RodneyDale here and agree that Inception is likely an excellent film. Having seen the film I admit that it had all the elements of an excellent film, it just didn't pull them together for me. I don't get it, and like you DarkFool, I'm surprised that so many people have lost their senses over the film.

I remember seeing Transformers for the first time and sitting wide-eyed in my seat thinking to myself, "This movie is awesome! There is nothing in this movie that does not need to be in it." Then I got to the masturbation scene with the clumsy Transformers stomping around Sam's back yard like a bunch of slap-stick stooges. That seen actually ruined the movie for me. It's still pretty good, but will never be perfect.
The sequel is utter fail. The ice cream truck twins with their raucous antics immediately ruined that movie for me. Then the plot showed up and I was furious, twisting around in my theatre seat trying to identify who got the Indiana Jones in my Transformers movie. Epic fail, but Shia still wins.

I think Kevin Smith's Jersey Girl was meant to have depth like some of his other films but it fell flat.

EDIT: I saw Shrink and it didn't dazzle me, but Spacey consistently delivers in his movies.
The Machinist seemed to have depth, but it didn't resonate with me. For anybody who hasn't seen the movie, watch it or search for some stills and consider Bale's physique and try to wrap your head around the fact that Batman Begins was released the following year.

Agreed. Only time Christian Bale has really shone for me. I think it may have been his peak.

Ice cream guys ruined the 2nd one for me too, however I tend to swtich off on movies like that, as soon as you read too much or expect things, it ruins it.

I think Christian Bale was at his best when he starred in the movie, "Empire of The Sun". He was very young and the movie was of true class.

PS: Yes, Grimlock is one of my favorites, but I really like Unicron as well.

Fuck sake, it's all about the Unicron. What's that mate, you turn into a truck? No, no that's cool. Me? Yeah, I'm a Planet.

Transformers does have nice big explosions and giant robots shooting at each other, both of which are always fun (sort of like the blue book on a four-wheel drive vehicle never drops below a certain level -- big explosions have an intrinsic FUCK YEAH AWESOME value). It was a disaster in every other way, though.

I watched Pandorum yesterday to get the taste of Cashback out of my brain. It wasn't perfect, but I liked it.

If you want something interesting, try Bubba Ho-tep.
Bruce Campbell plays an elderly Elvis who switched places with an impersonator and lost his chance to switch back, spending the rest of his days in a nursing home under the impersonator's name. He fights a mummy with Ossie Davis, who thinks he's JFK died black.
Bruce plays a very good Elvis. I think he honors his memory.

Bale was best in American Psycho. Bubba Ho-tep was pretty fucking hilarious, but that may just be because of the company I watched it in.

I loved Bubba Ho Tep. I found it very funny and there was something quite endearing about it.

American Psycho is a good movie indeed. I never heard of the movie called Bubba Ho Tep, but I shall watch it, because it looks interesting, and Bruce Campell is in it. (one of my favorite actors)

Anyone seen American Psycho 2? I haven't seen it, but I know just from reading about it that it sucks.

Bateman gets killed in the beginning of the movie by some revengecraving woman. Bateman. Gets. Killed. There's something wrong with whoever it was that wrote that.

Yes, that movie really sucked, luckily I only saw it once. Some days ago, I saw The Village and I am probaly not the only one who thought that it was very disappointing.
