I keep back-ups of nearly all of my cd's for this reason. Also, an "unbalanced" cd-tray damages a cd more than lots of take-ins/put-outs.

I have two copies of Warcraft III because I was unable to purchase the expansion unless it was in a battlechest. Boy was I pissed.

I own multiple copies of American McGee's Alice. I feel like Mel Gibson in Conspiracy Theory with his Catcher in the Rye obsession when I see a copy of Alice on store shelves, which these days is not often.

If there was a legal way to download it, do you think I would have bought it from Harvey Norman, known to geeks in my hometown as Hardly Normal?

Having said which, it was either AUS$10 for a copy that I knew would actually work, or AUS$20 to get a burned copy off the friend of a friend. Yeah, I know which option is better in that situation.

He never responded to our remarks... he just made that post, then abandoned the forum. Weakling.

Little one, you might want to look into these little things called Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling before you post here again.

(And yes, I am aware of the irony of me calling someone little one.)

... By the gods! You've just demonstrated more common sense than 99% of the people I've ever met!

Yeah, I think it's always wise not to poke fun at the short ones whose fists are about level with one's crotch.

All of the less vertically inclined that I've met have a chip on their shoulder. Or some sort of vicious succubus complex.

We have to have something to make up for the fact all you mutant psychos have about a foot and a half on us... My personal preference is for vengeful psychosis backed up by more supplies than most people can comprehend.

(I've played more traders and merchants in RPGs than any other kind of character. Even in D&D. Bards make good traders. :D )

The Bard is the perfect supporting character. Sure, they may only be a slight step above the pure spellcasters when it comes to fighting, but any bard that isn't using a bow in the relative safety behind the frontline is a dumbass anyway. To make up for that poor combat ability, you get a selection of songs that get batshit crazy at high levels, whether they improve your party or curse the enemy. In any moderately large party, I'd say the bard has the highest number of indirect kills due to how they modify combat mechanics. Add to that an awesome skill selection, a great list of buffs and above all else, enchantments, and you have a faggot in tights you have every reason to fear.

Being an old martial arts junkie though, the monk remains my #1 choice. Possibly with a couple of wizard levels to get nifty stuff like Mage Armor and Mirror Image.

The only time I ever played a bard was after I unknowingly pissed off my DM. It started out pretty well, we were going for a higher level campaign that started at level 20.
While I don't remember what I did to piss him off, I remember how he got me back. Long story short, playing a chaotic evil bard, leading children from their homes, and singing about the death of Bahamut while in a city under the watchful gaze of a golden dragon...

Screw combat. I'll just take the Fiend Blooded prestige class and gain access to fireball and create undead spells.

I'm also a fan of Eberron's Artificer. I swear, there is no greater 'Trader' class than the one who can make shitloads of magical items for little or no cost. (Of course, Eberron is just plain awesome anyways. Shifters and Warforged just own.)
