i woke up this morning, and i can't talk. not a single word. i'm so pissed off!!!! i can't even sing in the shower!!! or talk to nancy!!! on the plus side, i also can't go to work...

 

Don't worry Rosie, it happens to me all the time (especially the last part of it). Just make yourself a coffie and play a little bit. It will make you feel better, I promise... but then it will be too late to go to work _

 

It happens to a lot of people AFAIK. Especially when they don't know answer to a question.

Is it proper laryngitis or just a sore throat? I had viral Pharyngitis (the larynx is the 'voice box' and the pharynx is the bit above that which opens/closes the oesophagus) once when was at Uni. I couldn't eat anything except milk (through a straw to the back of my throat!) for 10 days! Also, the worst part of it was is that I couldn't swallow the painkillers the doctor gave me.... :cry:

I've had such problems all my life, it's horrible, not being able to even think straight because of the pain. Whenever I got sick I used to drink ice tea, because it was kinda cool and silky, it went down my throat well. Now, I can't even stand the smell of ice tea. Bleh. *shudders.
I even had it operated once, cause there was pus developing in there, but, that's a story for another time.

Well, I must say I've never had laryngitis...I was in a bad way last night, I was having hot and cold chills, had a migraine, my head felt like it was on fire, my knees and elbows were cramping, and I had a test the next day (i.e. today). Out of the 8 hours I was in bed, I would have been lucky to get 3 hours sleep.

Then I found some 'magic tablets' upstairs. I love codeine...

in any case, i can now speak! just not anything above a whisper... at least still no work!
