What you're asking is unfortunately hard-coded into the game, and there is no way to change it.

    Welcome to the forum, Nuke.

Done right - just about all of them. The inventor in Black Root seems to be the only one without a renewing inventory.

Don't the mages in the magic shops of Tarant have keys to their chests?

Robbing them with their own key is not playing like a good guy.

Yeah, I do not recall the dialog branch wherein Ritze offers to sell you his key or trade it for that matter.

Have any gambling masters managed to win the keys off of shopkeepers?

Its been a while since I bothered with a gambler but if I recall it right you can only gamble for either the store inventory or items in their personal inventory that they have equipped. Since the key is in their personal inventory and is not an equippable item I don't think you can gamble for it.

Is it just me, or is money more or less worthless? Granted, I expect money will play a different role for different types of characters, but as a technologist I find myself making or finding anything that's worth a damn. I'm running around with 6k gold because I can't find anything worth spending it on.

For purposes of game balance, I would expect this to be the case.

For purposes of amusement, I hope this is the case!

I plan on developing a master gambler so I will explore this myself.

6K is nothing? Technologists are the ultimate traders, because they buy lead and turn it into gold (pretty much). Mix coca leaves (2-5 gold a piece) with tobacco (3-5 gold a piece) and you get 4-5 fatigue restorers (35 gold each?!?). It's more or less impossible for techies to run out of money.

    Are you sure?

I thought you could only gamble for personal items that they actually had equipped (their clothes, weapons, etc) but NOT items that were in their personal inventory but not equipped ie. keys, coins, potions.

Say true, Vorak. The stuff in their personal inventory is safe from hagglers and gamblers. Keys, personal gun ammunition etc can't be bought or gambled for.
