Egoist is a much more fitting word. Why don't you use the words you know instead of words you get out of your apparently poorly written dictionary? Vocabulary has little to do with how sart you appear, except of course in your case, when you repeatedly misuse words. Stick to the words you're familiar with and read many books, you're vocabulary will slowly expand by itself.

I have to admit I am at least partially impressed by you stating your need for intelligent conversation. That is mostly outweighed by the fact that you go into said conversations assuming you know as much about the topic as the other people. Even if you suspect that is the case, you should always give them the benefit of the doubt to begin with.

There is a parable that follows this, it comes from the Bible. Back in Jesus' day, these Hebrew nobles would have dinners all the time. At these dinners, seating order was designated to the highest ranking attendants. The master of the house would sit at the head, his wife on his left. The most influential guest would sit to the right, and after that they had a whole byzantine seating structure.

So Jesus attends one of these dinners and sees everyone jostling for positoin. One man, he was a magistrate or something, sits in the highest seat, unaware that the host invited another magistrate from a more powerful district. The man then is told to move to a lower seat.

Jesus sits at the lowest seat, confusing everyone. He is then told to move up a few. During the meal they question him about this. (I won't use quotes since I don't know his reply verbatim.)

Jesus says, when you're going to someone's house, you don't know who they've invited (just like you don't know many things in an unfamiliar situation). You don't know if someone with more prestige or power will be there. And if you sit at the top seat and someone comes, you will be dishonored when the host moves down, you'll look stupid.

Therefore, when in a new situation, you should sit in the lowest place, adopting a position of humility. That way, when the host moves you up, you won't look stupid. Instead you will have been honored.

I'll spare you the connection with conversationsl; as you proclaim to be intelligent, I'm sure you can figure it out.

Yeah, I guess some of that crap I said was uncalled for. I realise now, I'm not really angry at you Sofokl, actually at other things, mostly my parents. I guess I just looked for something to be angry at. Sorry. Actually, now that I think of it, I've probably never even flamed anyone like that before.

Whatever, let's just drop this whole thing it's boring the crap out of me.

Ok, ok, I'm not angry at you. I will continue Blinky's using of Bible in posts and will refer to that Jesus said everyone to forgive. Being a scapegoat for a small time is familiar to me.

Em, well, I think there can be some sort of hostility between people in southern Sweden and Norway, I don't know scandinavian affairs, but why do you mock him so often ? :-?

    Sofokl, don't care about her. She's a non-believer.
Let us instead worship our newfound god! Hail Blinky!

Yes! From now on, the year 0 is anounced! Praised be Blinky, king of the loosers!*

*since we all are loosers here, and Blinky's our newfound leader... I figured he earned that title.

If Blinky is a king, there must be probably a kingdom Blinkland or Blinkia. Well, give me some time to think ... Ok, with the bless of our new Saviour I can beat all Slovakia in about 5 hours. Or you, Wolfsbane, can invade Denmark. :)

I should call Santa, he owes me some favors... I can get him to postpone presents to every American child until they convince their parents to submit. Knowing America, this shouldn't take long.
