I was in the castle in Ashbury, and I noticed after fighting some tattered bowmen that virgil and Magnus were suspicious of me. Even dog was I think. I know dog's reaction was at least lowered. Is this a bug, or is there something you can do about this? Why does fighting these enemies lower there reaction?

    WELCOME TO THE CLUB BRYANT!!!!
nothing can be done about his other than the standard ways to push up reaction.
edit: If I remember correctly, I told you to make an emergency save before going in the castle...

yes, you did tell me to make a save slot before entering. I heeded your advice, as well. Hmmmm. Is there enough dwarven snuff in the game to keep magnus happy?

Is the only place/way you can get dwarven snuff at general stores? I don't believe I have ever seen it....But then, I haven't looked for it either.

Also, how do you raise dog and Virgil's reaction? I have heard you can't raise dog's and Virgils you raise by talking to him....I tried talking to him....Didn't seem to help.

tarant general store always had some.
anyway I think if you have enough persuaion, if virgil get suspicious, you can then try to talk him out of it. The dog? well, if he gets angry, better get those rabies shots.
    there is no way.

That is about some stupid crap. What are we supposed to do? Save before every battle, then after the battle, check dog's reaction to see if he approved of our deeds or not?

as I said before this npc behaviour bug only comes into play when fighting tattered bowmen and kite bowmen. 2 things:
    1. do the followers like bowmen or what?
    2. from what I observed it only happens when fighting them in large numbers, it never happened to me if there was a single enemy,
So if you see any of those creatures above, let your followers do the slaying

Actually, certain items can reduce their reaction towards you. The Bangellian Scourge reduces peoples reactions to you by 15. So do certain armours and things like that.

There is a work around for the problem (not bug) that you are experiencing. Simply tell everyone to back off, let them beat on you for a turn, then get everyone to attack. Simple workaround.

Resurrecting a follower can boost reaction, not just "reset" reaction.
