Power is fun.
LMAO, seriously I was 10 seconds from posting something very similar to this, but I felt like I was taking the joke was over, so I stopped myself.
Wow, I go away for a few months and Sleek makes a bid for power. What else has happened?
It wasn't really a bid persay... It was more like I saw power walking down the street and I flashed my balls at him, and then followed him to his house, and yelled at his cat and read his mail.
That must have been an eyesore.
Things changed a bit around here it seems. Weren't all three mods on an almost religeous bid to wipe out gravedigging when I was here?
Err... well, carry on. Have fun with your Coup de Tat.
Hey Ferret. Nice to see you back at T-A...
Yo Ferret, nice to see you back!
Finally got more time on your hands? What you told me back at Aozos sure wasn't encouraging...
Ferret! It's like I just saw you on Aozos or something!
It's always been one of my personal crusades. Sadly, others are not as vigilant or zealous about it as I.
Also, welcome back. Stay around some more you fucker .
Jarinor doesn't seem to like gravedigging...
Only way to stop gravedigging is by deleting all of those "dead" threads.
Not like that would be hard to achieve, since phpBB can do it for you. Just enter the Admin index and click on "pruning" (whatever that means). It will let you decide a number of days before an inactive thread gets deleted.
Don't think I would like to have that on this board...
No. No matter how annoying gravedigging is, it would be a shame to destroy some of these highly hilarious, or philosophical threads just because they're old.
My point exactly. What would the world become if we didn't preserve treasures such as the infamous Chopsticks-thread or DU and Sheriffs discussion on MMOG's? It would be a worse place, that's for sure.
Exchange the automatic deletion with automatic locking however, and I'm all in for it. Especially if admins could choose which threads that could be spared from this, such as nobodies joke thread.
Now, if anyone could just code it...
You people need to search even farther back if you want to see the funny stuff.
First, take a look at me right now...
Now...go far back when I first joined this forum and take a look at those ones...
I have a great reputation on this forum...hehe.
Most of my threads were asking a question....except the one that told people to ask me a question...ahhh, memories!
I'd probably do something in the post reply area when the user hit the "submit" button. If the last post in the thread was older than a pre-determined time (such as 30 days) and in a particular forum, instead of posting, it'd just display the message "This thread is too old, you cannot reply" or something.
I don't care though.
and that's why you're such an awesome moderator...
*Sniff* I wish someone would tell me I was an awesome admin and mean it...*sniff*
grave digging wouldn't be a problem at all if it wasn't for the fact of posts getting at the top of the forum index every time, a code making topics with last posts older than a pre defined amount of days, stay right where they are. would be nice too.
Jarinor...you're a bad admin! Bad admin! Go to your room!!!
