    As much as it goes against my standards, I'd rather go for a clean kill with the emos. After all, if we bring them pain, they're suddenly right.

    You rebel against the holy seat!

    Very true but also tempting to show them what real pain is....

    Very, they should be shown the pain they always want to feel. If they choose to be the way they are so they should suffer...

    So people should suffer for the way they are?

    Yes. And I'll tell you why;
    The entire emo sub-culture is a farce. These middle class suburbanites fake problems to the extent that they too believe there's something wrong.
    The result is a pansey that instigates confrontations in school or other social situations just so they can be a victim and write about it in their diary, or pour their soul into some "black poetry" and use prose to illustrate just how bad they have it. Hell, I could fart out a little of my own black poetry right now...

    Bile.
    Churning and bubbling.
    Dashed against my viscera like a cheap bottle of beer on the sidewalk.
    Burning.
    I hear the flames howling as they lap at my soul.

    I'd like to see some emo-queef top that. And I wasn't even distraught.
    To be perfectly honest, I was diagnosed with a major depressive disorder when I was 10, and I went on a rapid downward spiral as I became a teenager. My point is, I'm not emo now, nor was I ever. The way I see it, if these kids want to die, let them. The only way for any of this to change is if the emos will admit that they're (now, I mean the emo thing) not real, and that they're making their own problems.

    For the sake of argument, say these kids really do have problems. The only reason that the problems are there is because they won't get off their asses and do something about it. If they're really depressed, there's probably a good reason;
    Adolescent body, charged with hormones. The problem is that they refuse to grow up, creating a psychological barrier that halts emotional development, much like a person who believes themself paralyzed and suddenly, by way of a faith healer, can walk.
    The chemical imbalance probably doesn't help, either. Whatever the case, getting older normally solves the whole teen angst issue.

    Another issue I have with any such subculture is that if these kids are expressing their individuality, why the hell do they all look the same? They might as well get matching t-shirts that say "I'm different."

    I love this arguement. If they're all non-conforming against the conformists, aren't they just conforming themselves? It doesn't make sense. Sorta like the saying "You're unique, just like everyone else!"

    But they should be hurt or killed because they're idiots? For shame guys, you have to be creative. If their lives are truly the most miserable, we need to take full capitalistic advantage of that. My proposal is this:
    Promote all midgets, strong men, and lion tamers to the status of full-class citizens and take them out of the circuses. Round up all the emo kids and put them to some useful purpose (entertainment) by putting them in the now under-staffed circuses where people can view their freakishness as they sit in fully illuminated corners and cry in front of paying audiences. And if you still want lions in the act I guess we could starve one or two for a few days and then give them five minutes in the center ring with a dozen or so emo kids. House covers all bets.

    Well... I guess that could work if you pushed it really far, and if the crowd consisted mainly of psychopaths. Many of the people working at the circus has chosen to do so because of the rumors of it being great and all.

    Turns out it's not. Poor suckers.

    My god I would pay all of my weeks wages just to see emo kids get chased and eaten by lions.

    Wobbler, you should try posting something with Brian Peppers in it. That would be first class entertainment!

    And, Tel, I already know you're a psychopath, so your say doesn't count.

    I detest the concept of "emo." People need to fucking get over themselves and man up (male or female, doesn't matter). I'm sick of everyone bitching about having a bad upbringing, or how their ancestors were slaves, or society brings them down because it doesn't understand, blah blah blah. Take responsibility and don't try to blame others, and don't cry about everything.

    That's a rather narrow minded philosophy. My view is that a million and one things can affect your status in the world, the position you're in, etc. However, at the end of the day, you are still your own person. It might not be your fault that you're in a situation, and you have a right to complain, but it is you RESPONSIBILITY what you do in that situation. The reason I personally try not to bitch is that those precious moments could be better spent actually accomplishing a solution to said situation.

    the problem with crying about a shitty upbringing is that everyone has had something shitty happen to them. and if they haven't yet, they will eventually. not to say i've never bitched and moaned, just pointing out that it's completely futile.

    Exactly.
    Bad things happen to people. If a person is unable to accept that simple truth, then maybe they deserve what's happening.
