it's gonna be a hot one

well, as i'm sure some of you have noticed that i haven't been around much for the last few weeks, this is due to two reasons.... a recent purchase of the game divine divinity (it fucking rocks, what little i've played), and the fact that i'm now a volunteer (sp) firefighter with the S.E.S. (state emergency service) and i've been all over the shop doing backburns and hazard reductions. Now some of you might be aware that Aust is SEVERLY drought ridden at the moment (approx 80% from the figures i saw today) and add to this that there ain't gonna be much rain from now untill Jan-Feb, makes things pretty bleak indeed. the good news is that i get to travel around for free for the next couple of months, however the bad news means i'm going to be putting out bushfires and risking my life, (i'm not joking people, my team's already had one close call). So it is with great trepidation and a little bit of fear that i say a reluctant fare-thee-well for a while as this summer's gonna be a bitch for me, with a lot of luck i should be able to check in (maybe) every now and agian, so if you happen to see any news reports on those "heroic hero's" look for me in them....... i'll be the guy waving, :wavey: .... just like that.

Haha, That is a good one. Very talented you are DU. I live in California but now I don't think we have that many fires now since its like umm lets say Winter.

 

How bout if you do that, I hunt you down and ram those explosives up your ass? I don't think you fully appreciate how dangerous and hard it is being a firefighter, especially in Australia.

Very dense of you. Half of California doesn't ever get snow, just lots of rain; which, ironically, actually increases fire risk after it stops by piling up huge piles of debris. Once the rain stops, we're left with hundreds of extremely flammable piles everywhere.
