Is the contest for the icon over? Because I have some graphics knowledge, but I dont know if it would really matter now.
The icon contest is over, yes. However, if you have something you want to make, feel free to do so. If I ever get anything better then what we've got now, I'd use it. There will be, however, no more custom avatars given out for any more entries.
The yellow, the background that doesn't really show anything, the funky choice of font. Oh, and that horribly garish, eye-scarring Yellow!

If you haven't figured it out already, those two images in DU's signature are the winning entries. The one on the left was by explosion (an excellent entry) and the one on the right was by me (maybe it doesn't fit together so well, but what the hell; DU likes it). If you can beat either of them, you may catch DU's fancy.

It's your choice what your signature is, although it is recommended that it isn't bigger than your posts. See, look at mine; a tiny, ugly image that sucks up bandwidth and does absolutely nothing. But it's not big enough to increase my overall post height.
