In Case You Didn't Know...

Gather round, and listen to the tale I have to tell.

Back in 2001, someone by the name of Dmonik started a thread in the Site Feedback section asking (due to the lack of Calis' presence) if he could be a moderator. Well, long story short, his bid failed (mainly because he got all pissy when people said yes, good idea, but not you, but also because he was relatively new) and Jinxed was given the position for a week instead. He did well, was given it permanently, and he gradually evolved to admin.

As time went on, Jinxed and Calis became less and less attentive to the board, but that was cool because it was pretty much self regulating. Then a wave of spamming started, and DU put up the call for me to become moderator. Needless to say, it was turned down, but Jinxed started laying down the law.

The cycle began to repeat a few months ago, so Jinxed put out the call for some help, namely moderators, news posters, etc. Again, I was knocked back for moderatorship (which is fair enough ) but was made a news poster. Snowmane got the job instead, and has since become inflicted with the curse of the moderator.

Hence, unless the board starts to become filled with spam and useless crap again, and basically becomes lawless, people aren't made into moderators. Considering that only reasonable, friendly people get given the position I doubt I'll ever be made one .

Maybe there should be one giant thread on the history of the board for people to read...

Nice...I came in during the late Eros Rex Era (tm)...and as such am a little confused when you, Sheriff, Milo, etc, start talking about some arcane, obscure thread...

I came in fairly early in the board, but I was gone for a long time. Guess I missed alot of that. So, I need to be friendly and not spam so that the next time everyone else starts I can become a Mod

 

Possibly, but Milo or SF or a more popular regular would be much more likely. That is, if they start showing up more and become regulars again.

 

Are you trying to say I'm not popular!!! Oh well, guess that's true . Well maybe if there hadn't been that period of time where I thought the site was no more I would have been here more and I could be popular!! Well, I'm here to stay. Whether that's a good or bad thing depends on who you ask

When I said 'more popular' I meant 'most popular'. They are probably the most loved here, at least by retard that is. If they were here, they could testify. As for now, retard has mrnobodie and vise versa, as they exchange cookies and hand jobs.

 

Lol, I was here when Milo and SF were posting alot. We talked a good deal and I would agree that one of them could be a moderator. If they would come back that is.

Lol, I joined 10 days before he did, but compare our posts. Now I feel bad :cry: . I was glad I found out that the site was still up but I was mad I had been gone for months thinkin it was gone.

 

2 years ago when the game came out I didn't want to spend 50 bucks for it (tightwad) I saw it last Nov for 20 bucks including a small sized prima cheat book included so I bought it.

Started playing and said this was a joke! (being used to BG 1/2 Icewindale 1/2 Neverwinternights and morrowinf)

Restarted in April and enjoying the game.
