Yeah! Desperate women with no means of income shouldn't be allowed to sell their bodies to survive, they should be made to starve to death. It's for their own good.

Thinking on taxi drivers, why do they exist?
In my mind they shouldn't because a taxi driver has nothing to offer that any adult with a car doesn't also have to offer. Virtually anybody with a car can provide a driving service for another person. As this is the case, maybe taxi drivers are disrespected for having no other worthy skill or attribute by which to make a living and contribute to society. They are providing a service that is not needed because nearly everybody can provide that service.

 

Not everyone can afford a car though, whereas as TDC pointed out "Virtually anybody of the proper age can provide sex for another person". Transport should be by this logic more of a comodity than sex.

 

They shouldn't have to, they should get help from their community in order to survive and thrive. Noone should have to sell themselves against their will. As I said, I have less problems with people who actually want to do this. But when circumstances forces a person into selling sexual services to ensure their survival, something is very, very wrong.

Another big problem with prostetution is that it's difficult to regulate. How can we be sure noone's getting pimped? Who is to stop customers from potentially harming and/or going beyond what the prostetute wanted to offer? These individuals are very, very exposed to danger and abuse. So what would it take to make them safe? Corporations with security guards... pimps?

The business is fucked any way you put it. If the whores are alone, they are open for abuse. If they get protected by other people, they are open for pimping. The best way to go about this problem is to outlaw it entirely and start working on helping people in tough conditions.

As to why prostetution exists: Men are horny bastards and always will be.

If you were going to work as a prostitute, would you rather do it in a large hotel that was part of a chain of sex hotels that all had managers and security guards and were run by a company that had shareholders and had to file annual accounts and allow health and safety inspections...
