im confused :P

ok so before i learned how to edit the arcanum module and use worlded i always dreamed about the awesome things i would change and all the cool stuff i would add but...now that ive become sort of familiar with the tools i really dont know where to start...so i have a question:

anyone have any ideas that aren't being done/already been done in other edited arcanum modules? (A:WIP, Car-Arcanum, etc...)

edit: oh i forgot, anyone know a program thatll let me see .ART files? i remember seeing a thread about this but i cant seem to find it

edit#2: also, the clips that show in the beginning of the game (zepplin crash, gnome dying) dont show anymore. the fight between

nasrudin and arronax when you talk to him doesnt show either, and i dont think the ending will show either...whats wrong?

 

I can help with the first two.

New ideas for Arcanum mods aren't easy to come by simply because Troika stuffed so much into the game, but at wizards.com you can find a vast array of D&D modules that can be easily adapted in whole or in part.

I use Redview (from No Mutants Allowed) to look at the .art files, but the Russians have one called Artview that'll let you replace the artwork as well.

As for the third, it sounds like a glitched install.

 

I don't know your experience level. I've been working on the following:

1) Fixing glitches - I've posted a lot of text you could cut and paste into .dlg files, or could follow to modify .scr files with the editors. Of these:
a) Endings fixes. One of my goals was to get all endings, which turned out not to be possible until fixed.
b) Speech fixes. Interaction between several talking characters was broken.
c) miscellaneous fixes, such as Weldo Rubin.

2) One of my goals in the game was to get all the Masters titles for skills. As you may know there aren't quests for Master of Healing or Master of Repair, but there could be.

3) CarArcanum should give you some ideas for what could be done to Arcanum.

i reinstalled the game - all clips work
i extract DATS arcanum1-arcanum4 - all clips work
i extract Arcanumpatch0.dat - all clips work
i extract arcanum (the huge one) - clips no longer work..

btw i use DATBuilder to extract the files

thanks a lot man, but theres no need, i found out what was wrong with it. i re-extracted everything and it was working, then i changed the starting location to nasrudins resting place, and the clips stopped working, so i think im not supposed to change the starting place of the game (thats what i was doing before)

edit: actually nvm its my disc after trying to reinstall my game this pops up:

so im gonna buy another one from amazon
