I am having a similar problem.

    I accepted Mrs. Misk's quest,
found the letter at Carrington's residence,
checked the name at the Hall of Records,
headed to 14 Trellis Way in Ashbury,
    and...

    nothing.

So, now I talked to Carrington
    and made him pissy,
and I can talk to Mrs. Misk only about
    the Iron Clan book.

I am as patched as I am aware is possible.

    Am I missing some element?

If I am not -- I have done my research
in walkthroughs and such -- is there some way
to trip the flag in my save file?

There must be guy who wrote the book about Misk (in Asbury). He then would die from poison.

Not even a dark elf teleporting?
Does "nothing" mean he's up there standing and talks about his book or that he's not there? Most of the time he's just lying there on the floor, but he's too small to be noticed; you and your followers can even step on him and not notice.

That's because you probably have to reload and return to Ashbury.

Oh, if you decide to stay around, welcome. :)

    Eh?

Kendrick Wales (Elmer Butterboom) dies from poison. Or is it magic? I can't recall...

Ah, that's a mystery... He's almost in full health when you find him, and yet he dies.

Ahh, of course it is. I see now, really.
But why enchant poison? I mean, if it's already deadly?

Dark elves doesn't make any sense to me (no offence, DE)

    So sorry.
I figured it was better to revive an old thread
    than create a new one.

I admit I was so stupid as to not see Mr. Burbottom
    lying on the floor.

    Thanks so much.

Edit: I thought I was crazy but I checked:
    it is Burbottom, isn't it?

Box, can you hold off on that extreme of a level of absolute stupidity.

spaceman, this is not an old thread. Don't think it is. I'll get mad at you if you do. We don't start new threads because one has gone cold for all of a day and a half.

Blinky, spaceman made his post in this: http://terra-arcanum.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=9539 thread first, and I thought it was a little too old to be revived (old memories and stuff).

Spaceman, no problem, you don't have to be sorry, just try not to do it again and everything will be fine. The reason I split the old thread was to save you from stupid members who flame grave-digging every chance they get. Also, I like using my admin powers!

Chalupa never struck me as a woman woman. More like one of those fake women. Like on Springer or Maury. That's why DarkFool likes her/him.

Once I was able to speak to Wales when I was OUTSIDE his house; after he died, I entered, and the dark elf was still there, staring stupidly...

It's even more funny to disintegrate the door, find the dark elf inside the house, and disintegrate him too. THEN you enter the house and speak to Wales.
