The Memory Dust contains genuine memories, and has been driving some people a bit nuts. Imagine... one second you're walking down the street deciding what you're going to have for dinner, and the next second you're reliving someone's memories of being almost beaten to death or watching someone they care about being raped and being unable to do anything... and feeling as if they're your own memories.

And being the bitch that I am, the nicest member of my core group is going to get by far the worst memories.

The story is told in third-person present, focussing mainly on Gwen. I feel more comfortable writing from her point of view than anyone else's.

 

Don't for get the memory where you've been kidnapped. Stuck in a pit (ala Silence of the Lambs) and kept starving. Every other day or so your capture tosses down a piece of raw skinned meat for you to eat. Just before you get rescued by whoever, the last bit of flesh that gets tossed down to you is the heads of your parents.

 

*looks down at her steak*

Suddenly I'm not hungry any more.

 

Uhm, if your not going to eat that....

...and there's that memory of waking up in the hot tube.
Realizing that the water was red.
Looking up to see the guy/gal who stole your girlfiend/boyfriend hanging upside down over the tube with their throat slit.

 

Or you can give a memory to a woman of her being a man....scary thoughts there!

You know, it used to be that a woman getting married needed to be 'a maiden afore and a martyr behind', make of that what you wish. Mwahahaha.

 

I so need to sig this over at Wizards, but I'd get sooooooooooo banned. Would be worth it, I think.
