    Can anybody tell me how to start a dialog file on version 1074? I open the scrmaker and click on dialog/edit and it says 'Cannot open file'.
    And is there any way to make a worldmap?

    Thank you. But I still have problems. Tell me if I do something wrong. I export terrain map, open it with Paint and save as 256 color map001.bmp. Then I make two new folders in my module folder, worldmap and map. I put mes file in the worldmap folder like the tutorial tells me. Then I make 356x356 bmp file named zoommap and put it into map folder. map001.bmp goes there too. Then I run arcanum, click on world map button and arcanum quits. What's wrong?

    did you make the file called WorldMap.mes? if not, it contents should look a-somethin like this:

    {20}{0, 0}
    {50}{1, 1, map, ZoomedName: ZoomMap, MapKeyedTo: 2}

    it is on th etutorial but i dont know what else to tell ya.

    i have been having problems myself with worldmaps...

    also, I have found that paint is really not reliable.
    (personally, I think Microsoft knows that they have a reputation, and can live off all of the stock they have, so they dont give a crap about what they make in the future).
    It also is very diffucult to make something look real in paint. Photoshop is the best choice

    Hmmm... Is there any modules with working worldmap? I'd like to look how they are done.

    My World Map is finally complete!
    But one broblem still bothers me. I have undated Arcanum and there are only three scripts. :???: Arcanum somehow uses scripts that are not in the scr folder. Where are they?

    you undatted ALL of arcanum? wow! thats crazy. Which .dat file did you undat? there are 5 I believe.

    Er... I have undated the arcanum.dat file that was in the modules folder. There was only one. Well, it took me a few hours to undat it, but it was succesfull. What do you mean by

    He means there are 5 '.dat' files for Arcanum. IN the \Modules directory I think. One of them has most of the art, another one has most of the scripts and dialogue etc..

    There is one .dat file in the modules folder and 4 others named arcanum1.dat arcanum2.dat etc.

    Just a note undatting all arcanum dats requires 1.4 Gb and contains over 186,400 files and takes 2.5 hours to burn and verify to Dvd :-o

    Ahh... So all scripts are in one of these .dat files? All right, I'll just undat all these files. It shouldn't be too hard :/

    Arcanum2.dat contains scr and Arcanum3.dat contains dlg files.
