Yes, yes, this is meant to be the antithesis of the "I HATE YOU" post. Now surely it isn't healthly to go around hating people, however justified it may seem. This post is for all those experiences where a stranger or someone you didn't know very well helped you out. I'll start. ----------------------- Nothing earth-shattering - bout two months back I took a bus home for the holidays, I arrived at five in the morning and was really sleepy. So sleepy that I forgot to tell the driver where to stop. By the time I got my wits together the bus had already driven about 3 km from where I was supposed to be. My dad was to pick me up at a certain time - but he didn't bring a handphone along with him. I found that out when I called home. I was certain that my dad wouldn't be able to remember my hphone#. So there was nothing left to do but walk to where my father was waiting. 3 kilometers may not sound like much now, but as I said, it was still dark, I was lugging lots of baggage, I was tired, etc, etc. About half a km down the road a motorcycle stopped beside me. I instinctively reached for the keys in my pockets when I saw it was a Malay (I didn't have a high opinion of them). He asked me where I was going and I told him - he said something like "Hey, bud, that's quite far away; I'll take you." Didn't take much for me to agree even though I was naturally suspicious. I figured I could jump off the bike if anything happened. But nothing happened - he just chatted pleasantly along the way, and dropped me off, said "Study hard", and drove off. Wouldn't accept anything. Like I said - it wasn't anything monumental. But it just kind of got me thinking. Mind you, hitchhiking is a definite no-no in Malaysia. Here I was with my prejudices about Malays being nothing but selfish bums, and a stranger comes up to help just like that. Cynicism is far too rampant nowadays, I think. ------------------------- Come on, let's make this post longer than "I Hate You".
Ummmm.... I like you too... *backs away slowly* Dipshit. HA! Suck it down!! Time to derail the nice-ness in this thread!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAAH!!!! *ahem* *cough* *cough* *ahem*
Ok, now tell us the XXX version of the story, "I was walking during the night.... Some cute stranger..." Why is hitchhiking a definite nono in Malaysia?
its really kinda hard for me to like anyone esp. that the world is full of selfish assholes it takes time for me to trust and like anyone inrelation to tzehoong a friend told me that angels dont come in halos and robes
I like girls. I like sarcasm, esp. when used by myself or by someone else to support me I like kind people. I like being with friends. I like parties. Ok, enough of this.

I love my family (except when my sis is being a jerk) I love animals, my cat. I like making up stories and MARSHMALLOW PEEPS! (yes, I know, totally gross... yet oddly good...)
I like to singa, about the moona and the juna and the srpinga, I like to singa, about tea for two.....oh, sorry bout' that. What is this km and hand phone foreign nonsense? It's miles and cell phone, get it right. I like the nighttime, beautiful women, a strong mind, winter, the outdoors, and a full moon is always nice. I also like to read and draw, fish and hunt, and I especially like the HoL.
It just is. Not that people will come out of their cars and beat you up or anything; it's just that hitchiking is something too alien, not in our cultural vocabulary - most people wouldn't even know about it. The only time you would see someone hitchiking is when you see a poor naive Caucasian stand by the side of the road with all the cars zooming past
I love the nightlife, I love the nightlife... True. My mum has a few stories of being helped unexpectedly by people she wouldn't have expected it from. Like the tatooed biker who gave her purse back with $800 in it.
... And my mom who got picked up by a semi-trucker. She was on a almost non-traveled road, when her car broke down. She got out, and suddenly, a semi-truck came by. The man offered to pick her up, and take her to the nearest filling station... a few hours drive. She got in, and he took her there. When she got out of the truck, she ran in to get a tow-truck ready, and when she went back out to thank the man, he & the truck was gone! Without a sound!
I like aliens. Can't say I care much for truck drivers, but then I don't really know any of them. And we'll just avoid the question of nbrosz's mom.
