I heard the internet is a good place to rant.

    I always heard it was one bra - which still doesn't make any sense since there's TWO CUPS!

    I've already mentioned how "door" is plural, but now I also realised that "gate" is plural as well. Well at least partly, since we have two words equivalently meaning "gate", for which one is plural while the second is singular. We have some serious issues with passages, it seems.

    Another fun fact about the Polish language - violin is plural. How logical. Oh, and so is Helsinki. Yippie.

    The joy with plural doesn't have to end here. DE can share the fact that he lacks a single intestine while Arthgon can tell us how he doesn't have a single brain.

    It seems the Polish language throws around singular and plural qualities like many other languages assign masculine and feminine qualities to nouns.

    As broken as it is, I appreciate how the English language doesn't assign gender to objects that are neither male or female.

    Learning genders must be the hardest part for foreigners learning Swedish. It simply doesn't make any sense.

    A table = Ett bord.

    A chair = En stol.

    The Table = Bordet

    The Chair = Stolen

    The Tables = Borden

    The Chairs = Stolarna

    It's fucked up.

    The genders in Spanish are not as hard but still confusing.

    Ei hytte = a hut.
    En bil = a car.
    Et hus = a house.
    Hytta = the hut.
    Bilen = the car.
    Huset = the house.
    Hytter = huts.
    Biler = cars.
    Hus = houses.
    Hyttene = the huts
    Bilene = the cars
    Husene = the houses.

    This is more fucked up than Swedish I tell you.

    Goes without saying. It's Norwegian, after all.

    Stop being so redundant, Xzbyte.

    Actually, blame the Greek. Pterodactyl bears it's roots in the Greek word Pteron, which means "wing."

    Does any culture have a letter in its alphabet that is always silent? That would be incredible.

    I don't think the greek ever pronounced 'P.' But my inability to think of an example may be due to the fact I'm too lazy to think of one, and going off the "pteron" example.

    Gotta say this:

    English-speaking tourists must have a bitch of a time reporting a theft.

    Tourist: "My money was stolen!"
    Swedish cop thinks: "(something) money (something) the chair....????..."

    Says the person who keeps a detailed list of every video game he owns; is there a manual, box, or Styrofoam, what system is it for, placed in alphabetical order on the special gaming display shelf...
