I an attempt to cool down I've shaved my beard off. Although I'm dealing with the heat better now I miss my beard and I'm beginning to regret the trade off.

I shave my moustache and small lip beard every year sometime between Christmas and New Year. Not that I particularly need to cool down at that time, considering my location.

I always regret the shaving within the hour, but always does it next year again.

For getting rid of the heat I wear light-coloured cloths and eat a kilograms of Soviet waffle ice cream on the street.

Light clothes and icecream don't work here, lousy desert country.

You have a beard? I totally didn't expect that.
I used to sport a goatee and would shave it in the summer too.

It was pretty much like Abe Lincoln's beard, but I have no idea what that sort of beard is called.

I too have a full beard and found that by keeping it trimmed to about 3/8" in the summer, I'm reasonably comfortable. In the winter I let it grow to a full inch.

Having never grown a beard, are you telling me that it really does keep you warm in the winter?

I don't see how it would drastically reduce heat in the summer, A shorter one I mean.

Airflow. A full beard tends to trap and hold sweat. By cutting it short, air can get in, dry the sweat, and help cool you down.

Agreed, you itch like hell with a long beard from all the trapped sweat.

That's probably why working out in a parking lot nearly killed me this past summer...

What do you do about Mongol horsemen? They must be a real pain, riding in all the time to loot, plunder and burn down your village. It'd be havoc for your internet connection.

Fine! NO clothes and a bath tub of ice cream!! Will THAT make you Happy?! God!

...yea, I dunno what inspired that. but anyway, since I'm too lazy to move my mouse to the other side of the "size" tag (damn thing keeps moving everytime I type), I'm going to just do the rest of this post in small size font. I figure this will work with all efficiency, since most of this forum won't bother to read it at all. Anyway... I don't bother with a beard because my facial hair grows in red, and the rest of my hair is dirty blonde. Therefore, I shave fairly regularly.

Really, Vorak, you're already complaining? What will you have left when summer does arrive?
