i can't load games anymore.. for some reason today i start arcanum and try to load a save.. any save.. and nothing happens i get that pocket watch busy icon in the upper right hand corner but then ... nothing and i can keep clicking over and over it doesnt crash or give an error or change screens or hardly react at all...

    any ideas?

oh and yeah... its silly that that divine fire pistol works like a melee weapon interms of damaging itself!

I ran into the same problem with the save file once. After a while I just gave up and started a new game. Wish I could give you better news.

Unfortunately, namad, what rroyo had said is the best news you will get. If you had multiple copies of the same save, you might be able to go from there, but you probably should just start up a new game.

Well good, at least you're not too far behind. I'm more of a "once and done" player.
If I lose my single save file, I get pissed and uninstall the whole game, only to re-install it weeks later when I've remembered how much fun it was.

If you get the stalled watch there are 2 things you can try.
    1. Go to modules\arcanum\maps
Delete the contents of the maps folder.
    2. Go to data\proto
Delete the contents of the proto folder.

If you are playing normal Arcanum, just load up the game.
If you are using a hack that makes use of altered protos (e.g. Car Arcanum), then you will have to re-install it to replace the deleted protos.

I have absolutely no reason to post here as I have no seniority whatsoever.

    I have been warned.
