How about just plain America? It's from the Italian name Amerigo, which sounds badass, like most Italian male names do. Although I must bow to the Japanese for inventing the most badass language on earth. Okay, so here are some suggestions:
Maritopia. Latin for Land of Warriors.
The Richter Federation. It just sounds tough.

Um, I think "America" is a shortening of "United States of America" and the name of the continent comes from a cartographer called Americo Vespuccio (or something like that) who was the first to consider America as a continent (the others thought it was a group of islands).
That said, I think the second name Jarinor proposed would be adequate - though it probably wouldn't please the politically correct people over there.

How about Sphincterland?. Why you ask?... Well, we're at the arse end of the world and everybody seem's to be fascinated by poking around inside and seeing all the interesting creature's that call it home like Platypus'es, although i've never heard of a Platypodi.

But anyway, even though this thread seems to be totally derailed with no hope of ever fully recovering I'm going to mention that the newest episode of southpark, which aired on comedy central last night involves a totally unexpected spoof on the whole Janet Jackson/nudity on TV thing. I must say that this new epsode is a total masterpiece. The faux-Anime styling is totally awesome, and the parody of common American moral values is wonderful, and irrefutabl accurate/hilarious. They also touch on the whole "Mel Gibson: Antisemitist" controversy the ensuing events=hilarity.

Cartman to Kyle: "I saw the Passion of the Christ, and Mel Gibson told me Jews are lying cheating snakes, and if the Road warrior says it, it must be true."

Please, do yourself a favor and catch this episode.

 

That's awesome. When I watched that with three of my freinds, one Aryan, one Irish/Polish, and the other Irish/Jewish, we made constant jokes before the movie about how we were going to have to kill Jeremiah, and that we felt our Anti-Semetism feeding, etc. But seriously, if anyone found that movie anti-semetic, I mock them and their idiocy.
