Unless you've got fate points coming out of your ears from Kree, there's really no good reason to use one for the Iron Clan safe. :) And the pistol you can get without a fate point as well, and even without any pickpocket skill.... Wasteful, just wasteful!

the ring of influence is a definite for mages. as is fawn's necklace in qintarra. if youre a female, you can get the ring of virility without a fate point or any skill, just do it when hes not awake. for males, thats another one. thats 3 fate points. a couple for follower reactions if youre ugly or evil. i never find myself using all of them.

Exactly how many Fate Points are there in the game?

Off the top of my head I can remember:

Getting past the thieves at the bridge in Shrouded hills.
    Rescuing Gar the Human
    Gilbert Bate's Basement
    Killing GB
Blowinbg up GB's Steam engine for Cedrick Appleby
Bring back GB's journal for Cedrick
Obtaining the Kree Idol without getting caught

    *Memory blacks out*

    I know theres loads more.............

Here's additional ones that I remember, and some that I've been told about but haven't got personally:

    Becoming the Butcher of Stillwater
Repairing the altar at Vooriden (perhaps only before Pete asks you to)
Learning of the Thieves Underground from Lukan
    Killing Lukan & Friends
Convincing Loghaire to return to the throne
Leaving Kree with the idol without killing any barbarians (unfortunate point of temptation...)
    Freeing the Ogres in T'sen-Ang
Clearing Jormund of the murder of his mentor
Getting the journal at Half-Ogre Island
    Killing the King of Caladon
    Cure the werewolf
    Killing Don Throgg
    Convincing Don Throgg to escape
    Instigating the Orc Riots
Helping Cynthia Boggs in her escape (haven't gotten this one personally)
Tell Alexander the truth about the Panarii (I think...)
    Betray the Bedokaan (maybe...)

That's all I can think of at this ungodly hour.
