Hey that's a nice way around the problem. Btw when they attacked you were your followers nearby? You should leave them aside because if they attack it's just like if you attacked.

I know this. I "parked" them in the start point of faclons pain, and they didnt intervene in they fight.
However, as soon as the guy hit me, red shades were arround EVERYONE and EVERYONE died, although I didnt do something...
oh well so I countered a bug with another one lol

Now that's interesting. It's not even that I never had it - I never read a post describing such a bug. Up till now. All I can think of is that you had some auto-defense thingy on you (like Magnetic Chapeau - but then none of those guys has a bow iirc). Oh well it doesn't really matter since you found a way round the problem.

I really didn't need to use any of my fate points. I think I used one on Virgil cause I wanted to see if i could make him fall in love with me but other then that bit of morbid curiousity I really didn't need them 3:)

They come in hadny when you play "limited" characters. Like a dumbass half-ogre. You can use a fate point to steal yourself a set of Plate Mail late in game - no other way to get it afaik.

    Creative Uses

The first time I played Arcanum, I didn't know about the Iron Key, and used a fate point to open the Iron Safe in Tarant. Still might be worth doing, to save time.

I also used one to steal Doc Robert's gun - only way I could defeat him at the bridge when I was level 8 ^_^

I use them to steel the ring of virility and the ring of +2beauty,charisma in Tarant. Other than that I rarely need them.

You can easily steal stuff of Doc Roberts when he joins you in bank quest. But you have to act quickly or he'll attack you.

Yeah, but his gun and armor can't be taken -- only the Bandages and such in his inventory.

Perhaps that's why he attacked me because the first time I took all but his armor and he attacked me. Then I left alone the gun&armor and it was ok. Still he's a good source of ammo early on.

That's odd, whenever I get Doc Roberts and look at his inventory, he isn't wearing armor or a gun, but it still shows on his character (like the Halcyon Rock-lifting Ogre). Maybe this is a patch change?

Try wearing a Smoking Jacket (or Elegant Dress) and having 21 Beauty. What would that amount to, +130 reaction?

I most often use fate points for pickpocketing.

It's the Ring of Influence worn by J.M. Morat (a gnome at the Tarant bar). At full magical power it gives +3 beauty and +3 charisma. He'll give it to you after training you as a Master Haggler, but I believe you can also steal it from him.

the sharpshooter's pistol is found in tarant with the gunsmith there. i have stolen it with no points in pickpocket while he is sleeping. first you have to steal all his bullets (f7 after each successful steal). then try to steal the gun which will now be in his inventory. it can take a few tries and f8s, but itll let you get the gun without spending a fate point that you might not have to spare.

I use the fate points to steal Cassie's Necklace and the Sharp Shooter's Pistol, and to open the iron safe.... other than that I just use them to try and get even reactions from fallowers.... generally multiples of five.

BTW: I have had that same problem at falcons ache..... i just unequip my weapon and it seems to fix it.......
