And no, I don't post at the Sierra boards. No, I am not a little immature, I just get pissed off at gravedigging. Face the facts - most of the regulars have been here a long time, and acceptable behaviour has been laid down and agreed upon a long time ago. Gravedigging is not acceptable here, and you're not about to change the prevailing opinion of the board with your oh-so-innocent "I'm just trying to help" attitude.

I don't mind people helping each other out, I'm quite in favour of it. It's when you dig up a thread that's 2 weeks old to make a point to someone who most likely no longer visits here. If the question was that important to them, don't you think they would have asked it again? Chances are, they've already worked out the problem themselves, or found the answer elsewhere. It's not like this place is the sole repository of Arcanum information and wisdom on the Internet.

Seriously, though, gravedigging is a nono. When you dig up old topics, as Jar said, it is just a problem (and a place for us to raise our post count scolding you, but that doens't matter right now) to those who care about it. Even though you don't find anything wrong with it, you probably won't stick around for long. Dont bother those who care and are frequent users with stuff like that.

BTW, NO ONE can outdo Jar when it comes to insulting people on the forums, so don't even try.

Remarkably, you have written a very uncohesive sentence. It is not clear what you are asking, other than do you understand something. But what is that something? Are you asking "What part of "shut" the fuck up", "What part of "shut the" fuck up", "What part of "shut the fuck" up", "What part of "shut the fuck up"", "What part of shut "the" fuck up", "What part of shut "the fuck" up", "What part of shut "the fuck up"", "What part of shut the "fuck" up", "What part of shut the "fuck up"" or "What part of shut the fuck "up""? Or perhaps there is some nonsensical combination of words in there that are the focus?

Let's take the first part of the sentence - "What part of". Right off the bat you are in the passive voice. Sentences should always be written in the active voice when possible.

The next part "shut the fuck up" does have a verb - unlike the first part - however, it does not make sense. How do you "shut the fuck up"? What is a "fuck up" and how do you "shut" it? The phrases and word combinations you use do not make sense. Please alter them so that they do.

Finally, the last part "do you not understand?". Again, do not leave your verbs at the back of a sentence! This part is also unnecessarily long - "do you not" can be shortened to "don't". Being verbose does not make you a better writer!

Overall, I'd have to give you a D. The only thing you got right was spelling.
