    The problem isn't that parent's don't want their kids knowing about sex as opposed to violence. It's that there are easy answers when a kid asks about violence, whereas questions about sex make parents feel icky. That's politics, it's all about the icky.

    Violence is something that any child disovers in kindergarten, parents know that they cannot protect their children from violence.
    Sex is something that parents wants the children to stay away from atleast until they are 18 years old.(usually most children don't care)
