But evolution requires more than just mutation. Genetic drift (I believe that's what it's called.... been a while since my last biology course) amongst others is also required.

Indeed, which is why I said "among other things" myself.

Genetic drift is a static process that occurs from the impact on the distribution of genes. It also ensures that allele within a population may increase or decrease, so an important factor in evolution. As a trend that organisms are homoygous; Whether an allele is itself removed from a popuation, or allele dispels all other allele in a population.

Either Arthgon has evolved into something coherent or just found the copy button alongside wikipedia.

He may speaks the words of truth, yet I'm not sure what's his point nor do I see how that's contributing to the discussion.

Also, since this turned out to be an evolution thread, I feel obliged to point out that evolution doesn't happen within a single organism*, so in Arthgon's case it's rather a matter of adaptation if anything.

    * That's right, Pokemon, fuck you.

Yes, I am envolved into something coherent. Also, why should I copying the wiki, if I already know about this sort of things? That's because I am really good in Biology. (If there is something wrong, blame my biology teacher.)

EDIT: Typos (It had been a loooong and busy day.)

I'm not sure how to interpret this. Could it be that the all powerful Dark Elf of Terra Arcanum misread my organism as an orgasm?

    Both?

Nah, I was alluding to the fact that since evolution cannot happen within one organism, procreation is a necessity. After all, the primary consequence of the reality of natural selection is that it decides who gets laid or not.

Don't worry, my far-fetchedness would sometimes imply that I work in mysterious ways.

Sorry that the last post of mine was less coherent, but it has been a long and busy day.

Gee Arthgon, here I am providing the House of Lords a nice little scientific debate and you gotta troll it. You never let me be anything but a troll, I hate you.

I just wanted to tell more about the genetic drift, for those who did not knew what it was. (Perhaps it was a bit case of showing of what I know and could remember from school.)

    Definition of a Terra Arcanum thread (2000 - 2010):
A series of posts of various people discussing on a particular subject.

    Definition of a Terra Arcanum thread (2010 - 2012):
A series of posts of various people discussing on a particular subject intermitted with Arthgon's posts, in which he, unasked, provides explanations of the more complex terms used by the disputants for the sake of those of us, who - while otherwise having a perfectly functional Internet connection required to browse the forums in the first place - are unfortunate enough to not have access to Wikipedia.
