Hi all, I'm new to this board and pretty new to this game, but I probably won' stick around longer than it takes to get a few questions answered. 1. where can i get a fire obstruction? 2. is there any way to get thorvald to stay with you after you return him to the wheel clan? 3. is there any way to convince loghair to return from exile? :-?
i'm not to sure about the other two questions but i DO know that there is no way to get a fire obstruction other than by making one yourself... welcom to HoL!
You can't find it. Learn the schematics (one before the last on the explosives tree) and make some yourself. Yes. Tell him to wait outside when you're entering the Wheel Clan for the first time. Yes. You need high Intellect (can be done using a potion, but speak quickly, before it wears out) and Expert Persuasion (3 points). Talk to Randver about Shape and Stone. When you talk to Loghaire after that, direct the conversation towards the Shape and Stone discussion as well. Later in the game, after you visit T'sen Ang, you can even get Loghaire as a follower, and I must say he makes an excellent tank.
IIRC 20 Charisma should do the trick (no followers will leave the party, ever). I think it requires three things: Good persuasion (Don't know exact ammount), good intellect, and having talked about shape and stone with the guy above (don't remember name).
Thanks for the tips so far. How do I talk to Randver about Shape and Stone? I JUST got to the wheel clan, is this convo triggered after another quest? I have jayna, are the potions she can make the Potions of Persuasion you were reffering to? They dont seem to do anything, but i'm already an expert in persuasion with 12 points in charisma... I tried all the dialogue options with Randver, but I didnt notice anything about shape and stone, I took a potion and tried again and nothing different happened. I did the same thing with loghaire, with no noticeable difference. do i need to be a higher level? (i'm lvl 29).
You need to have three character points invested into Persuasion as in SKILL. With two points and Elixir of Persuasion you can give it a try I think. Once in the dialog with Randver, you need to get him to talk about why his father was so ashamed of what he did. Asking about Lorek the Abjurer also won't hurt.
Minium IN 10 to get that option. Potion of IN, not persuasion*. The persuasion gets you in to see the King through the back door so you can avoid cleaning out the Dredge. *That is the talk fast part. There is a lot of dialog before you can say "I think my inteluctal powers are up to the task". That is when Ravender checks your IN.
