Well, hello people! Good to be here. I used to be here by the name of Goblin King...I had like a 100 posts, so some might remember me faintly. Well, my account didn´t exist anymore, as something weird happened to these boards, but now I have a new account. Anyway, what is your favorite npc and why?
NPC as in follower? Well I'm a tech so my party is Jayna (makes VERY useful elixirs), Magnus (for feather weight axes, eye gear and skeleton key), Vollinger (charges for my new Tesla gun, which isn't bad at all apparently), Sogg Mead Mug (the best fighter I could get since he's with me from the beginning and gained a lot of levels) and Sebastian (grenades for sale and pretty good with guns). And the dog of course, because he's free. Jayna is probably the most useful. If only she could develop a bit more in therapeutics...
Yep, as a follower. Personally I think the Dog kicks ass, but it can get boring because he kicks too much ass. Raven is great and then that mage who likes to cast Phantasm spells...forgotten his name, since I haven´t played for a while.
The mage of the Phantasm college is Perriman Smythe and he is real good, but I'd rather prefer Geoffrey. Anyway my favorite follower waaay far from any other one is Torian Kel! He's the best for anyone, it doesn't matter who you're (mage/tech), as long as you're evil, and if I'm not evil just pick the Bangellian Scourge and done... welcome Kel!
I didn't notice the dog kicking ass, maybe because he gains less then 10 levels before I get to level 50 and stop there. But Sogg does kick ass, and I'm yet to see who else does. The lizard probably should, he's a bow expert after all...
Next game, when you get to a city with a train station, go straight to Ashbury & get Dog. You have no idea how good a 12th level dog is when you are only at 5th or 7th. If you get the patch, followers will level wp untill they hit 50, even though you stop there. Magnus will wait & return as well.
5th?7th? In Ashbury? I'm normally level 5-6 when I come to Shrouded hills! Well if I don't do any quests... Maybe you're right. Dog first, quests later!
Killing everything that moves at the crash site, the Molochean, the wolves in those mountain passages right outside the Crash Site (a bit difficult but I manage to kill them all). Arbalach's quest (killing Farkus of course even if I can steal the artifact from him. There is often an encounter with a wolf or two. That's it, no big secrets.
The crash site gets me to three. Lame assasin & all. If I don't take the wolves, I usualy make it to 4 with Arabalah's quest, but so far, I think I have only gotten to 5 a few times even with the wolves. Even once had a MH ruffian kindly donate his armor before SH & didn't make 5th. I don't think I have ever left SH at 8th.
