Hurricane Gustav! Right now it looks like it's going to hit here in Louisiana. Hopefully it won't be a repeat of Katrina, I'd rather not spend my time snatching people off rooftops.

 

Update: Looks like this thing is going to pass right through my location. This should be interesting.

I got called in this morning (on Sunday) so we could fly down to New Orleans and evacuate people, but there were so many echelons of command involved that the mission didn't get off the ground until 1 pm, and when we stopped for fuel in Baton Rouge, they called us back to Fort Polk. Huge cluster fuck and a fantastic waste of my day.

Anyway, the storm will be passing through here tomorrow afternoon, so wish me luck.

 

That happened when we sent boys from Halifax to help evac for Katrina.

Except nobody wanted to get out of bed, so we didn't get off the ground til 1 pm, and when we stopped for coffee at Tim Horton's, the guys got called back. Huge cluster fuck, and a fantastic waste of the world's time.

Is it as bad as Katrina? Will it be worth having our Presidential Candidates debate the relief effort for it?

Well, Gustav turned out to be a very underwhelming category 2 hurricane.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for hurricane Ike. It's in the atlantic right now, but maybe it'll head this way and wreak havoc on New Orleans. Then I'll get to shoot some looters!

 

Ah, there's the Japes I know and secretly fear. Never looks on the downside, always finds ways to pray for a reason to shoot idiots.

What comic is this, and where can I find it?

 

Google 'Something Positive'. Start from the beginning. Enjoy the fun.

 

I started reading it a few days ago when it was first mentioned. I like.

 

Googled it, found it, and enjoyed it so far.

 

If you enjoy something positive you'd probably also enjoy the now completed Queen of Wands. There were two crossover story arcs between S*P and QoW while it ran and after it was done one of the characters from QoW joined the S*P cast.

And if you like QoW the creator has a new comic called Punch an' Pie which is a collaboration with her and the artist of Striptease
