I have tryed to istall the No Level patch found here http://www.terra-arcanum.com/phpBB/dloa ... file_id=39 But my game keeps crashing just as I acheive level 51. I don't understand what "Extract the archive to your root install directory of Arcanum" means. Where does the new "Data" folder go? Please give me a step by step for dummies for it's installation.
Put the executable into \Arcanum. \Data goes into \Arcanum, e.g. C:\Sierra\Arcanum\data . Extracting the files into \Arcanum will create the directory for you, unless you have your decompression utility set up otherwise.
Just select both the “data†folder and the “Arcanum.exe†file (hold Ctrl and click both). Press “Ctrl-C†to copy. Select “Run†from the “Start†menu. Type “C:\†on line. Press “Enter†or click "Ok" button. Double click the “Sierra†folder. Double click the “Arcanum†folder. Press “Ctrl-V†to paste. Click “Yes†or “Yes To All†buttons on screens that pop up. Ok so I have it working after using the path from the first poster. Thank you! Does anyone know how to get random encounters on the map back? The patch seems to have got rid of them.
Re-install the patch and if doesn't work just remove the patch from the game...if both doesn't work than i don't know!
I've used the 127-level patch in the past, and it doesn't affect random encounters. Their lack of appearance could be related to any number of other factors.
