Help Finding a Saved Game Editor...

Hi everyone. I've been searching for an Arcanum saved game editor, but I'm having no luck. Either the site is down, or it leads to File Planet, which I am not a member of. Can anyone direct me to a free, working character editor? Thanks!

 

We've got it in the downloads section along with just about anything else you could want.

Edit: Well crap. I have it working, but now it exits the game every time I go into battle. Is there anything I can do about this?

What did you change? There's a limit to how much you can change any one character.
The best I can recommend is to tone down your changes, or find an earlier save before those changes and go with it from there. otherwise, you might have to start the game anew.

Yeah, game editors are pretty screwed. One time I tried editing Vergils magic skills (just for fun) Yeah...... I couldn't reverse the process.

 

I actually messed up my whole savegame so be careful.

 

Well , i come to a problem.
The editor ask the name of my char ,i type in,but it dont turn up right.All the att and other thing is blank.But the npc(s) work fine.Only the main char dont work.
Anyone have a idea?
I check in game my char"s name is K and this is what i typed in the editor.

You got my curiosity going. I tried what you did and got the exact same problem.
However, "Kay" and "Kae" will work without any hassle.
(I neglected to try two letter combos - sorry.)

Another thing I discovered is that my hack does not like to access single-letter names. I haven't checked this on the stock game or Car-Arcanum, but I imagine the lock-up I experienced while trying to load the "K" save would be typical.

In other words, although it sounds cool and is easy to remember, single-letter names just don't work with Arcanum.

Editor Error

When I try to use either of the errors, my stats appear, but are completely incorrect and are often impossible numbers (182 in a magic skill?). For some reason, Regsvr will not accept riched32.dll as a dll file, and I cannot install it (Though I was able to install all of the other dll's and ocx's in the windows System directory as instructed.). Every time I save a game edited with the editor, it becomes instantly corrupted. Whenever I try to open the "skills" portion of the editor, I get the error 'Text' property is read-only.

Anyone know how to fix this crap?

 

Some of those things happened to me when I tried to edit the saves of the unpatched game. I think it was the patch that fixed those for me.

But, I still got that sometimes while editing followers. I managed to avoid errors by not editing them at the moment, instead I always waited for them to gain some levels in my party and after that their stats became normal. Can't help you any more, sorry. :/

 

Right. I already patched, but it still doesn't work, unfortunately.
