I'm wilfully double-posting just to brag:

The leadership wants to try one more go at diplomacy, so hold off on your attacks after update unless he attacks anyone again, then its open season. Obviously we cant control a GATO member, but if you want to hold off willingly it will look good for your application. :)

//EDIT: I posted your battle results Spuddy, good job kicking him in the teeth. :D

Also, Mathboy, since you're now a member, could you please post your battle results Here?

    Thanks, Mad Max!

Though this was my after-update attempt at attacking. Can't see how Bunkie's going to reply with violence, seeing as how he was in anarchy before update (from my last attack, apparently) and now after it as well.

Woo-hoo! Thanks, Vorak, for getting me into this game. I'm having fun like hell!

I await a response. Maximus you might want to send him a message as well if you want outlining the 24 hour deadline. I also can't accept (and don't need) the $1,500 in reparations so I'm happy for someone (Spuddy, mathboy, etc..) to collect it on my behalf.

I won't attack until I either hear a negative response or word of an attack by Bunkie against someone. If after next update there's still no word, it's all guns blazing and I'll happily keep Bunkie in Anarchy for as long as it takes.

Nice verbage, that should be sufficient if he's got a clue, which I doubt.

Hang on a minute... Is this how the GC does it? If this were a GATO fight, he'd be forced to pay for everything he'd done: the value of troops killed, infra destroyed, tech stolen, land seized...

Probably he'd also be forced to reimburse your income drops from the days of the war, having stunted your growth. If he was deemed to've been particularly annoying, the final tally would then have been doubled.

Say it ain't true? Fifteen hundred? That's nothing - I could send you that right now, even after paying my taxes and doing my upgrades.

Based on the initial attack damages are calculated and double that figure is demanded, this is open to laster revaluation if needed.

But you must be realistic say for instance you demanded $40 000 he'd have to have $120 000 to be able to send 40 thousand in reparation and with the current state of his ravaged economy it could take months for him to pay back.

The main purpose of reparations isn't so much for rebuilding, the GC helps out with that, reparations are ment to punish aggresors.

Yes, I know, but GATO has seen reparations up to half a million being paid in installments over two weeks, and similar.

Of course, with heavy damage the figure is realistically scaled or even waived, but $1,500 just sounds so pitiful I'd personally hardly bother.

The guy has nothing left, he isn't supposed to offer to pay up. Its merely an excuse if anyone else complains later, we can say we offered him a way out.

    Ah.

Well, serves me right for being just unpaid muscle rather than a member of the inner circle.

Love the paper trail of good intentions, though. Nice touch.

Anyone can be a member of the inner circle, it just takes initative.

Prove to others that your ideas are worth listening to and they'll give you a chance.

Has my screen failed to update? Bunkie's still got 135 troops and is in anarchy, which sounds like identical to what it was last time I checked (before the mathboy-DU fights with him).

Or has he chosen Anarchy as his form of government? ...

Either way, I'm going to hit the sucker in 90mins.

Yeah, I wonder if it updates sometimes too. Could be Bunkie bought some more troops or updates don't occur sometimes. I had a case previously where the damage I did didn't seem to be reflected in the stats afterwards.

By the way, what's that new war you've got all about?

Spuddy, who's this other GATO guy, a friend of yours?

Who? What other GATO guy? Let me go check.

    Hold, please.

    * * * back again:

OK, seems a volunteer stepped in for the endgame. This boy/girl has been itching for a fight for a while, but had trouble finding a suitable opponent, so I guess s/he got tired of waiting and just joined in without telling anyone.

Which would have been a less than great idea under our new rules, had this not been a voluntary war.

    NOOOOO!!!

... and I just bought troops!

Looks like I've got no choice but to leave the fighting up to you guys. :(

Tell valkyrie9002 to give 'em hell!

Swell... My results weren't that impressive even though I damaged some infra and land (PM:d to DU in-game), but now my esteemed GATO colleague has messed up the plans.

First s/he attacks without alerting others to this, even though we're carrying a whole thread just for the Bunkie war, then valkyrie bumps DU out of the war, and then s/he still hasn't attacked.

In all seriousness, this could be the end of my involvement, too, seeing as the original complainant combattant (DU) is no longer in the war. Fine mess for my platoon commander to sort through.

At least I kicked Bunkie twice more, but fuck GATO if they now want me to bribe him to get out of the war. (damn these helpful valkyries)
