I'm a bit curious. I found this recently, and was dismayed to see that this forum may have been a bit soft in the old days. If Xiao had gotten the chance to respond to her own introduction thread, she would have torn herself apart.


I believe this softness is compounding, because Xiao and Papa_Dog are not tearing into this guy. I kinda hope that Bell Hooks gets bored here soon enough.

 

Meh, the n00bs are all the same. They show up and say, "Hey everybody, look at me! I'm different." and are either hated or accepted. The hated ones are either run off or bitched at until they straighten up. Or they get tired of hanging around a forum where they are hated, and leave. Any way you slice it, the sore thumb doesn't stick out for long; it either falls in line or gets chopped off.

Anyway, Hooks would probably sound smarter if he wasn't so obviously trying to sound smarter than he is. If you're going to talk like a tea-sipping douche bag, at least do it right. He's doing it wrong, and it draws a lot of attention to his poor spelling and grammar.

 

I only pounce on newbies when I feel like it. I don't feel like it at the moment, but if I don't find my backup hard copies of some work in the very near future, that may well change.

You all really do believe that I am trying to sound intelligent. This is understandable but in all honesty I am not. I simply type in a style of which reflects my personality. Bad grammer and spelling is a flaw in my ability, not my personality. As such, I shall continue to type in a way I think suits me best.

ML: It was a terrible week when I had the photo shoot and the first years were taking pictures of the poster and photoshopping it to look like a vampire. Considering my bad mood, the punch in the face would have been justified.

Not to question your skills of perception fellow Tasmanian, but I really don't believe myself to be stuck up. Perhaps my own level of self awareness is lower than I lead myself to believe at times, but I am certain enough that I am not a teenager. Weather I'm a smart person or not is debatable but I shall tell you (should you choose to believe this or not), I have many friends, from many different parts of the world.
Anyway, I digress.
The main purpose of this post is to say thank you, for a heartwarming welcome.

 

Nobody actually believes that they're stuck-up, Hooks (unless they have self-esteem issues). I don't quite understand your logic in saying "No, no, no, I'm not just trying to be an asshole, I really am one", but whatever.

Also, if your friends are from many parts of the world, it doesn't count, since you probably talk to them on the internet. Indeed, the only ones who really matter are the ones that live in your local area. This only really expands if you move away and continue correspondence.

 

I have plenty of local friends also. However, my job requires that I work away a-lot and I tend to meet new people quite often. My wife is my only true friend if I'm honest.

 

Business clientele don't count as friends, either.

 

Nor does drawing faces on your fingers and conversing with them count.
