Well I have owned this game for a long time. It was given to me by my father and I simply never did anything to it, it has just sat there with my stack of computer games. Figured I would give it a try. Just did the official patch and the unofficial one. Right now I am downloading the high quality maps. Than it is playing time for about an hour or so than I need a little sleep. My brother is getting married tomorrow :D .Any advice or tips would be helpful. Thanks and see you all around!

For the easiest play through a master melee/dodge character with Virgil and Dog would be best.

    For hardest a dwarf mage.

Welcome aboard. Please read the FAQ to prevent any problems. (This is starting to become my standard greeting...)

My advice? Pick an 'archetype' for your character and run with it. Have as much fun as you can, and don't forget that this is a game with infinite replayability, so don't worry about trying to do everything first time.

Well you think you can help me out here. I made like three different characters and was not satisfied. When I play games like these I like to play as a druid type character because I like to buff my self and heal my self while still dealing decent damage with a sword and magic (What I soloed bg1-2 and currently soloing ice wind dale 2 with) How exactly should I start the character? Thanks I will check the reply's sometime tomorrow I need a little sleep, stayed up later than I planned.

Well for a druid like character I would focus on White Necromancy, Nature and the various elemental spell colleges. A little training in dodge and melee will go a long way. And I would definitely get Dog as a follower for my animal companion (even though he eats into the XP)

To start the character - melee 1, dodge 1, Calm Animal (Nature 1) and the last two points where ever you would like. This would make you powerful enough to take on the starting enemies at the crash site while being able to walk safely from town to town without worrying about being ambushed by level 12 grizzly bears.

*A klaxon goes off, obliterating the peace and quiet that is an Autumn's evening in Tasmania. The klaxon is rapidly joined by several fire alarms and the extra-loud alarm from Red Dwarf. A voice crackles over unseen speaker...*

!! WARNING: The following is a comment that maybe five people in HoL will understand! If you don't get the joke, tough! !!

Gee, Huphrey really let himself go, didn't he?

I'm guessing that Yuki is not one of the five people who gets the joke.

Obviously not. *smirk* Ah, almost makes me nostalgic for the days of rec.art.drwho and the insanity that was the Yadalee.

rec.art.drwho was (and may still be, I haven't ventured into that abyss since '01) a Doctor Who newsgroup. They were the most bizarre peeple I've met in my entire life. Yadalee was... he was the eternal n00b, bitching and whining and being completely stoned/incoherent all the time.

EDIT: And if you mean the original joke... no. Explaining it would ruin the entire bit.

Naw, just reminiscing about some of the truly batshit people I've met along the way. I was wondering how he'd react to a joke like that... Probably make some stupid comment, and then I'd have to direct him to my title...

Yes, but you're silly. He was just fuckin retarded. (The problem with nostalgia is that it's never as good as you thought it would be. Now I'm just frustrated. Gah. Shower time.)

Speaking of nostalgia, I'm reinstalling Fallout as we speak.
