15 MONTH DEPLOYMENTS!!!

My vacation to the sunny and exotic Middle East will now be 15 months instead of 12! I'm so happy, I could punch someone in the face.

 

I have yet to see anyone I can legally shoot at, which is very frustrating. If only they would show me an AK, just give me a reason to let em have it.

I've heard some stories about what happens when deployments are extended. Bad. Not going to repeat them here though.

Japes, how likely to you think it will be that we'll still be sending everyone to Iraq circa June 2008? I don't really care where I go (probably because I haven't been anywhere yet) but it's always good to have an idea. All I know right now is that I'm getting posted in Germany, so that's either 1st ID or 1st Armored (in a Cav unit, obviously). Either way, Stryker or Bradley.

I was just looking at one of your pictures, and I noticed the 25th ID patch. I didn't know there were any Aviation elements in the 25th.

Every infantry division has one Combat Aviation Brigade, except for the 101st which has two. And 1st ID CAB should be replacing us around October, which should also answer the question of how many months I have left.

 

And that also answers my question of where I'll be going if I get 1st ID.

 

Fortunately, a leutenant doesn't need to know where he's going. He just needs to think he knows where he's going.
