An actual question

How bad is it if my followers don't like me? I have reached a point in the game where whenever a monsters does damage with an area of attack spell that also hits my followers I lose 5 points off my rating (see my post on follower reaction for my best guess on WHY this is true).
Now I have a 20 charisma, so presumably having poor relations from my followers shouldn't matter, but I wasn't sure about this. I can painfully reload a save game every time I get hit by an area of effect spell, but this is annoying. However, it would also be annoying if my followers ended up making nasty comments to me all the time, or if there were other problems due to horrible follower relations.
BTW if it matters I am (purposefully) playing a goody-two-shoes character (my "goodness" is 88 after the black mine (it was 93, but i decided the melee master was a jerk), so "evil" strategies are not available to my character. (In fact I am seriously thinking about going through tarant and killing all those characters that are involved in the thieves underground - their offers to join clearly indicate that they are bad people).

Well its ok as long as followers' reaction is above 0... there are things to give to them to increase the reactions.
