What's everybody dressing up as this year? I'm going as Pope Japes I, assuming I can assemble the required materials for my papal vestments...

Being an American holiday I tend not to celebrate it. However we do have a party at uni so I suppose I will dress up as something amazing.

I stopped dressing up (enjoying it anyway) for Halloween at 13 years old. I was already six feet tall, so when I dressed up as Frankenstein's Monster and went to one of my neighbor's houses, they thought I was going to hurt them until I took my mask off and showed that it was "just the neighbor's kid".
More recently I've dressed up as random "dummies" that stay perfectly still until just the right moment. I stopped when I had scared too many little girls.
If I had a beard I'd go for Paul Bunyan, because I fondly remember his exploits with a giant blue ox. Plus I've already grown my beard out and find that I look like a kind lumberjack in plaid. Either that or I could dress up like a punk. I have a kilt and punk jacket, along with combat boots.

Halloween isn't really an American holiday. It's just been Americanized thanks in part to Hollywood.

I think I'm gonna carry a spritzer marked 'Holy Water' and spray people with it.

Disgruntled student whose roommates are all going to places that are better and leaving him to dole out candies so the house doesn't get egged.

Grossenschwamm, you get double accuracy points for referring to your costume as "Frankenstein's Monster."

I'm dressing as Super Mario, potentially a steampunk variant.

I never properly dress up. Too lazy/poor.

Any excuse to wear a monocle in public is fine in my book.

But what will you put IN the spritzer?

IF I dress up, it'll be as ninja. Or maybe gong-fu master. But most likely I won't bother.

Last year I was quite ecstatic about my costume and started gathering the necessary ingredients for it at least a month earlier. The result was quite good too, if I can say so myself.

This year? Meh, I lack the inspiration and zeal somehow.
