Killing enemies in turn based while they are polymorphed (or body-of-element'ed) being Arcanum's version of plastination. My favourite way of killing things, in fact. What could possibly be more satisfying than turning your foes into gore statues?
Quite ze instantorgasm, ja. I guess what could be seen as more satisfying would be a (wonderfully) timed series of explosions, resulting in either a lovely picture formed out of the explosions (live for the moment!) and/or a similar picture formed out of... well, the leftovers, I suppose.
That is impressively fucked up. The heads are cool, though, the only problem being, of course, the chance of a Morte spontaneously developing.
That would be fun during the action, but the end result would be as casual as all Arcanum corpses. Seriously, this game lacks some really satisfying death effects. Normal death, lose leg, lose arm, lose head and that's it, four it total. I'm spoilt by Fallout 1 & 2 which had - if I'm not missing anything - eleven* types of death animation and corpses, all of them so very satisfying and disturbingly entertaining with their video and audio effects. The gore statues are still very refreshing for me since the very moment I first stumbled upon the possibility of making them, with them serving as a form of compensation for the absence of Fallout-like deaths in Arcanum. * Standard death, ripping a hole in the chest, bullet dance, bullets tearing apart, flame death, flame dance death, melting by plasma, cutting in half by laser, roasting by electro damage, turning to ashes by electro damage, exploding.
What can I say? When preparing screenshots for threads such as this one or the Lowest Fatigue EVER one, I make sure to make them perfect, which means taking care of every single detail is a necessity. It just wouldn't feel right without spending a minute or two on creating an adequate portrait when I know that such a particularity will add some flavour to the final result.
