Is there a way to convince them to attack hostile critter without sacrificing one party member and having the beast lock on to the nearest guard? I'm being chased by a bloody wererat and I can't kill it myself without sacrificing Virgil and I can't get the guards to kill it without sacrificing virgil or myself. Note that I'm no necromancer, although at this point it might be nice.
use your imagination...check your inventory very carefully and use all possible weapons...i take it your a tech character so see if there is something your able to make...otherwise if you have about 1500 - 1800 cash sacrifice virgil, kill the bastard, and go to an herbologist to buy a restore life to raise virgil to life
Restore liefe are expensive. How about doing other quests or travelling some more to get more experience points and some useful and powerful weapons. Get back to that rat and kill it. The were rat, IMO, are easy target.
You see, I'm more curious about the guards then my problem. I've already gotten past the part I was talking about, I'm just wondering if there's a way to get the guards to guard short of making a 'realism' mod.
the only time that i've seen the gaurds attack was in shrouded hills during the bank robbery....at least that i remember...maybe you can entice the gaurds to attack by bringing the enemy right in front of them...as for directing gaurds to attack - unsure - maybe with high persausion character
The guards are lazy pricks. "Oh look, there's a were rat attacking a civilian!" "Want to help him?" "Nah, might get blood on my uniform. Have to look good for my date tonight." "Ah, forgot about that. How is Mary Jane?" "Not bad, thinking about marrying her." "That serious? *Strangled cry of person killed by were rat* "What was that? Oh, the were rat killed the civilian. Guess I'd better go kill the rat..." "Nah man, stay and chat with me." "Ah, can't be bothered getting up anyway. What's going on with you lately?"
Heh heh heh. Perhaps this can be tweaked in the next patch . . . *me goes and pounds on sierra's door . . . with an axe*
I don't think they're lazy, they're just extremely stupid. They won't hesistate to attack me if someone starts trying to beat my ass. Like that crazy ass halfling in Ashbury that attacks me for no reason. I could be standing in the street minding my own business, right next to a guard, and out of nowhere this halfling starts wailing on me. So what does the guard do? He starts beating my ass, too! And then Magnus... that little prick. I defend myself against the crazy halfling and the LAPD, Rodney King style police beat-down, and Magnus chimes in with his annoying "Ach! I cannae believe ye'd attack sooch a gud perrrson! Ah wilnae stund fer thus mooch longer!" The world's gone mad, I tell you. Mad. Next time, it's just me and my dog. Or some evil followers that actually like when I kill guards.
Torian Kel rocks if you are evil... Way better than Sogg, probably the best melee follower in the game after the dog I reckon - at least for an evil person. Personally, Loghaire ThunderStone is probably my favourite follower.
Raven is one of my favorites. She fights a hell of alot better than Virgil and heals you just as well. With Ellumyn's bow and expert skill, she attacks like 50 times a turn. So what if she shoots me in the back of the head? She heals me afterward anyway.
